The writing is coming along smoothly. We're having a few internal issues, but I promise I'm going to do my best to make it in time for NaNoRenO, and make the VN as great as possible. Stay tuned.

Poor Owain... nobody thinks he's the cutest.

Wow, 71% in Elise's favor! I didn't expect that at all- Minori seemed to be getting much more attention.

Allow me to be honest and transparent- the writing and art is going well, but Murder Express might not happen. There's been some tension within the team that I'm trying to fix, but if my words fail me, the project can't continue. I really do hope we can make this visual novel happen, but I can't promise you anything, okay?

Regardless, thank you all for the support and positive reactions.

Edit: It seems Murder Express IS going to happen. We don't die.

As for me, the writing + initial programming is about 50% done. We stalled a bit earlier on, so we're only slightly behind schedule. It's definitely nothing we can't make up for. Although, I might outsource a few scenes to my brother (also a talented writer) just to finish faster and give some extra time to straighten things out. I'm also sick, but I'll be fine... ;~;

In other news, Owain received his first vote! He's on his way to world domination. xD

Anyway, I realize I haven't given anything to show for my work thus far. So, in the interest of keeping you guys updated, here's a small writing sample!
Should be obvious, but E= Elise and M=Minori

BLACK SCREEN

(centered ) Elise... thank you for coming.

E “Oh, Minori... No need to thank me, really.”

(centered) But I have to.

E “It’s not like I’m really doing anything for you-“

(centered) But you are... You’re protecting me from the train’s curse.

E “Minori... come on, now.”

I somehow manage a soft giggle.

FADE IN: EXT. TRAIN STATION

It almost feels surreal, now that I’m thinking about it... An empty wind swirls around us, fluttering Minori’s skirt and tossing my hood into the air. The faint grumble of a train’s departure on the opposite platform echoes throughout the station.

E “You know, Minori, it’s been a long time since I’ve been to the city... Really, I’m a bit excited- is that messed up?”

M “N-no, of course not, Lettuce-chan. I asked you to come, so the least you could get in return is some fun-“

E “But it won’t be fun for you.”

M “...Says who?”

Half a chuckle escapes from her lips, fractured further by her trembling voice.

M “I’ll try my best, okay? …Lettuce-chan?”

Minori thinks that Elise's hair looks like a head of lettuce, while Owain insists that it looks like a tomato.
Perhaps that debate will be settled once we release the visual novel this month and you hear their arguments. Straw poll, anyone? xD

By the way, Elise wins the poll for cutest character with 50% of the vote (6 votes)!
Minori and Owain split the remaining votes with 42% for Minori (5 votes) and 8% to Owain (1 vote).

If we learned anything from this, Elise and Minori are amazing and Owain is an ultra buster. LMAO

Oh no!! It's unfortunate that it won't be completed this year, it was one of the games I was looking forward to. Still, things happen and they're out of our control, so please don't blame yourself. At the very least, you still took part in something creative and crazy (anything nano-related has a spark of crazy behind it) and learned new things!

My vote went toward Owain, and whaddayaknow? He has 4 votes vs Minori's 5. I'm pretty sure if you guys had listed Owain in the title of the poll, he would've won~

Sucks that this won't release, but it looks like the script could've used some work. That "Lettuce-chan" thing was a bit much, same with the "I'll protect you" stuff. Sounded like fan-fiction content. Still, you probably had some good ideas. Hopefully you can put them to use in the future. I don't know why the team broke up, but I'm surprised it only lasted a few weeks.
