GENRE: Modern Day, Fluff, Romance?, Surprise Ending
SETTING: Here in Australia, because that never happens in VNs! :p
HOLY POOP I FINISHED IT
Here's a launch thread! :D
A teeny tiny story with a silent protagonist, three cute boys, and a just a few events to show the beginning of their relationships. There's really nothing in the way of in-story choices; my trade-off is to let the player determine a few things about their PC at the beginning of the game, and the events afterward are based on a combination of their traits, and those of the boy they prefer. The goal is to keep it short and sweet and FINISH a thing!
There's a twist that will make this a lot less ordinary, but it really would ruin it if I told you. There is a hint in the title.
You still want to know? DEFINITELY?...
...Well, of COURSE choosing a soulmate in three days would be rushing things :p Choosing a new owner in three days, not so much.
Stretch goal: On subsequent playthroughs, the Player Canine WILL appear onscreen, and have dialogue rendered in dog noises.
- I'll shade the character sprites if everything else is finished early
- It's unlikely, but there's a good spot for an additional event CG if I have tons of extra time (basic goal is only an ending CG).
An off-screen silent protagonist of customisable name and gender (he/she/they, no in-game effect except pronoun usage). Two traits picked at the beginning of the game, Appearance (tough/pretty/cute) and Personality (energetic/loving/clever) will determine the events of each playthrough.
A cute, upbeat but shy boy in his last year of high school. He writes digital music he shares online, and would like composing and/or producing music to be his career. Easily scared and nervous around large animals. A chronically white kid.
A responsible, mature young man studying medicine at university and working part-time at his uncle's pharmacy. His family, who emigrated before he was born, are very close-knit and have (perhaps unreasonably) high expectations of him. Being deliberately serious and well-behaved, he has some trouble being emotionally honest.
Standoffish, aloof, and constantly using an apathetic attitude to cover his emotional insecurity. I'm still not sure if these are his final hair colours. Melancholy and private, Ash has some survivor's guilt over the accidental death of the last friend he got close to, and tends to keep others at arms' length. I'm not sure about his career/studies or background yet, but his actual name is Ashleigh, which he can't stand.
(As you can probably tell, at some point I decided to let the player decide what they wanted to call the boys... :p)
