Aaaaa this sounds super interesting (and by now it's no secret I love your art), and I'm so excited to finally get to play it once it's released <3 It sounds interesting that I can give ghosts cookies, and while I'm not normally fond of point-and-click type games, Death and Other Practical Jokes sounds like it'll make for an awesome exception! <33

This game sounds really fun! Generally I suck at point and click games (I always just spam click everywhere hoping to get something LOL) and I'm not a fan of them, but it feels like a great fit for this game, so I'll give it a shot when it's released! Love the idea of some haunted mysteries, and that you'll playing from a rather unique POV (I'm assuming the protagonist will be a child so you'll be viewing the world and investigating the ghosts from a child's POV?)

Actually, the point-and-click part is not obligatory! If you can deduce the ghosts' personalities based on their locations' visual cues, you can definitely just bypass all that by straight up talking to the ghosts. So long as you don't anger them and get to the end of it, you're totally fine.

Unlike most point-and-click games-- which I suck at too, by the way-- the point-and-click parts aren't obligatory. You're just clicking on them if you don't have any idea how to approach the ghost, and if you already know, you can just go straight to talking to them.

The protagonist is a child, yup! Some of the horrors are talked about in some... very innocent ways, let's just say. She understands murder (by definition, of the law itself no less) but she doesn't understand what "gruesome death" really means, since she's not really sure she understands what death is anyway.

*COUGH COUGH COUGH* WHAT. I'm super flattered/honored by even the mention of a collab, and I'll probably hold you to that post-NaNo even if the lowkey suggestion was empty af. >_o; And ooh, that's awesome! I still do want to try the point-and-click bits, just so I can get the full experience, but I love that you have the option for us to avoid it. I'll try my best not to keep the ghosts happy and well-fed with cookies and everything <3 AND OH GOSH THE SKETCHES. They look amazing *u* and I especially love the expression and pose of the little girl (the child ghost?). Also, frankly I don't know nearly enough about the time period (or fashion trends throughout history in general) to care about or notice the anachronism in the way some of the ghosts dress x'D

I'm trying to make the experience basically... mmm, how to say it? Basically if you know what you're supposed to do, you can deduce what to do. Of course, there might be some questions that only rise up when you inspect in depth. But I think it's possible to at least avoid spectral wrath without clicking around.

The child is Artemisia, actually! She's very feisty. And likes blue.
The dress is sooorta accurate because it was a real one, but suits... meeeeh. xD (the lapel and such are right; it's mostly the length that might be inaccurate.)
I'd have them better drawn (painted, more like) in a future VN with yours truly (aged up, a lot less cute) so I can't spoil tooo much :'D

Hadn't finished any locations yet, but I'm working on Artemisia's side sprites. I'll upload one expression tomorrow.

!!! Dang Alton and Claire look really nice! Best ghost parents. And gosh younger artie is just too cute. Can I ask from what time Alton and Claire are from? To heck with accuracy! They're just that fashion-forward!

They're actually a married couple when alive, by the way. Not really a good pair, mind you-- but that's a topic for another vn.
They're from the late 1800's. Claire's dress is from the 1880's.

Artie's side sprite, though I doubt I'll be using this. I can't imagine her smiling like that.
