I wasn't actually planning on participating but ~things happened~.

Insilo is a dark, very short (you'll likely finish it in under 10 minutes), and experimental kinetic novel.
There's no romance, but there's some cute ~frienship~ and cats.

I wanted to play around with some presentation stuff, and a short project like this is pretty nice for that,
so I'm aiming for something between Quartett!'s comic-style presentation, and Hotel Dusk's sketch animations.

While I was thinking about how I'd do that (hey, I didn't even have a story until two days ago!), I thought
it'd also be pretty neat to experiment with procedurally generated music too. If any of you have ever
played The Path, I'm probably going to do something similar.

Because all of this is so short, and so not-the-kind-of-thing-Ren'Py-was-designed-to-do-anyway, I'll also
be writing my own Browser-based engine for that, so you can just load an URL instead of downloading stuff.

Insilo tells the story of a person who has to fight with the feelings of being isolated in a normative society when they deviate
from that norm. Saga, this person's self, watches as they interact with other people who, even unknowingly, end up hurting them.
While Saga's fluffy-ball friend, Sól, is always there to comfort them, it's not until Saga meets Eir that things'd begin to change...

Ooh, the character sketches look ridiculously awesome, and I really love the atmosphere of your promo art (main menu screen?). The story itself sounds super cool as well! Also, danggg, good luck with the coding (for the browser engine) + the VN itself! <3 Super looking forward to this.

Oooh wow, this looks really awesome! Interested to see where you'll take this, even if you're planning on keeping it short :)

I'm liking the look/feel of your characters from your sketches.

Good luck with your experiment.

I like seeing any form of creative experimental endeavor. :) I had played Hotel Dusk and I feel the animations are part of the game's charm. How is your animation going so far? I like the atmosphere of the game, feels tone down and dark. Sort of a quiet melancholy. I think the character artworks are lovely in a delicate sort of way. Good luck with the experiment! :)
