I don't mind the main character not having a sprite or side sprite. The game sounds amazing, and the loss of a sprite won't change how good it is.

This sounds really really good. It sounds something I would play, and I don't mean "read and pick choices" VN play but something I would like to be completly turned into a playable videogame.
It's not posible though, right? I'm guessing the "Death event" happens only once at that specific moment and there wouldn't be much gameplay for the rest of the game.
Spoiler theory?: I'm guessing someone's going to kill him - or it will be an accidental murder, like arguing about something, someone pushes him, he happens to trip and hits the soft part of his head with the table. If it's something like then I think it will pretty interesting as VN, maybe even a webcomic! Like I really really want to know more about the story already.
Another Spoiler theory: Or is it more like a "You can't scape death" situation in which a series of accidents will happen one after another and you have to protect him all those times? If this is what's happening then it totally makes for a videogame, to be honest, haha.

Regardless of what it, I think the whole IDENT concept is extremly good and I'd like you to keep it even after you are done with this project and maybe use it again in the future: it's incredibly good and I definetly want to see more stuff about it.

Side Comment: I just finished my degree in videogame developement, and I'm really good at finding loopholes in story, character and design, and also providing solutions. I'm like a beta tester but for design instead of mechanics, haha.

@Weenily - Thanks! Glad you like the clothing choices, I really enjoy trying to make outfits that suit the people wearing them. I think with Robbie's hoodie I'm torn on either making up a fake indie band logo for it, or some kind of generic icon thing... also,

@Hi.In.Ni - Well, if the Operator doesn't like the outcome they can always rollback their Ident to have another shot. And another. And another etc . I'm glad you like the concept and yeah, I do have a couple of other ideas using this conceit that there isn't really space to cover as deeply in this story (I'd like to do something about the implications of a more straight forward Ident use than the mess this one turns into because there's some potentially real emotional things to look at with the idea of someone who is 'meant' to be entirely inconsequential and temporary that'd it'd be nice to give center stage in another story...) . One thing at a time though!

I kinda like the sound of a generic icon more! Fake indie band logo might be too busy, unless you think of a really good indie band name or something?

I'm about 80% through the inks of everyone's base (There's a few characters who may get second poses but I'm building this on make the simplest version first, then build up as I have time.) My goal is to have all the standard bases finished today

Aaand, have a Nola sprite: I'm trying to keep the colouring very simple, with hue limited colour pallets and rough paint-y textures.

Nice job on those sprites! I like the colors that you chose for everyone, and how you balanced the colors with the greys. They won't clash if they're all on screen together this way. ^_^ There's also a lot of personality visible just from these simple sprites! I love them all.

@Zelan: Thanks! I wasn't sure if it would work cause it's an odd decision but hopefully the greys tie everyone together.

Goal for the next few days is converting my rough outline into dummy scenes. I've got a few gaps early on so hopefully I can fill them out, though thankfully I do have the endgame down really clearly now.

Mine's always look so similar to each other, having such characteristic characters for your story will be great!!! Will you have time to do all of them tho? Like it's almost being a 1/3 of the month already and those are A LOT of characters...
