I feel like a proud parent hearing your compliment since I keep joking that the minor character is my son to the others in our group chat... I've even been trying to push a spin off game idea to them where he's the main character lmao

Extra stuff is always good, haha! The new ending sweetstrawberry's added is probably one of my favourites, too, so I'm really happy that it'll be in the game.

I know a bunch of you wanted to see some more background stuff, so here is the finished throne room!

Oooh, that throne room looks super cool! I like your style of backgrounds - crisp and clean lines. A lot of VN backgrounds are more watercolor-y, so it's interesting to see something different. ^_^

Your backgrounds remind me of some more serious 90's cartoons -- I like it! 8D

The completed background looks nice. I like the details and the colors works well together. And the background sketches are looking very nice. Looking forward to seeing more backgrounds. ^^

I saw the background with the sprites and the UI, it looks very nice and everything is well fitted together.

Lots of progress since I came through here last.

The colours for the sprites look gorgeous.

And the backgrounds look wonderful (have to paint a throne room myself).

@Pick_One: Yeah, I'm super happy how well Darlingdraw's backgrounds match everything else! I'm excited for everyone else to see the rest of the backgrounds she's working on too.
@fmjaye: Thanks very much! Haha, I'm glad to hear that, because I also like main characters that are kind of jerks... I had to check with other people on several occasions whether Zheng was being too much of a jerk though...

Progress Update ★
All the UI stuff has been designed & coded, and I've just finished drawing all the CGs.
Writing has been finished, and I'm in the middle of programming and putting everything together now.
We're quite close to being done!
Since all the CGs are pretty spoiler-y, I probably won't be posting those here. Instead, here's a couple screenshots!

Zheng is just... stone cold. Like, wow. I love it. cx And I love that main menu GUI - is that Zheng without the hood on? Can't say I was expecting we'd get to see that.

I sort of like Zheng's flippant dialogue, it's kinda funny to me. lol. That screenshot looks good.

I really like the background, there are lots of nice interesting details that help shows that someone was actually there. Also the line art is great.

@Zelan: Thank you! Haha, yeah, Zheng's not very nice, but they're a laugh to write. They actually don't wear the hood for a good portion of the game, so their side sprite will have hooded and non-hooded versions.
@Pick_One: Thanks! We've tried to make Zheng's rudeness kind of entertaining, so I'm glad that you find it funny haha.

Progress Update ★
I would estimate that about 75% of the programming is done at this point.
After it's complete, we'll have our testers have a go at it before release -- we're squeezing really close to the month-end deadline, but hopefully we'll be able to make it!

I already like Zheng's dialogues. The screenshots look very good. Yay for different poses for the sprites!
