After a night of fun, passion, and one too many drinks, you wake up a long way from home, with only hazy memories and a total stranger lying naked beside you.
Who is she? How did you end up here and what happens next?
Will you stay long enough to find out or will you make a break for it at the first chance?
ONE NIGHT STAND thrusts you into a “morning after” scenario in which you decide how to proceed.
With almost no memories of the events leading up to this, you may need to take unusual measures to piece together what happened. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with just grabbing your belongings and slipping out while she’s unaware, right?
- A variety of different outcomes (number of endings TBD)

- Point and Click investigation

This is my first time entering NaNoRenO and this project will be my first completed visual novel! I'm very excited by the project and I hope you will be too
Thanks for reading and good luck in your own NaNo projects!

This looks really good! The story is interesting and I love the art. The pastel colors and the style are so nice to look at. And it has animated sprites! Definitely something quite original.
I'm looking forward to playing this! Good luck!

The rotoscope animations are so cool! I really like the style too. The story sounds fun to play as a point and click haha. Good luck on your project!
You can call me either Weenily or Gaile! They/them pronouns please and thank you.

Thank you both for your kind words

I was really inspired by Hotel Dusk and wanted to create something in a similar style. I used to animate a lot and have kinda forgotten about it recently... It's been great fun to dive back in again!

I hope you'll like the game when it's finished!

I'm curious about any sort of possible plot twist. Although I don't really care about plot twists if the story is told well or atleast feel it was entertaining. I'm just slightly curious about that sentence," Of course, there’s nothing wrong with just grabbing your belongings and slipping out while she’s unaware, right? ".
The animation looks pretty cool so far and could be pretty helpful to the investigation. I also had played Hotel Dusk and I was charmed by the animation and art in it. Good luck on the rotoscoping, I think it can still be pretty hard to make the movements look natural and believable. Can't wait to see it in the game, where I'll have more thoughts about it.
Good luck on the project!

Thanks Pick_One! I hope you'll enjoy it when it's finished

I don't want to spoil anything about twists, hehe!

That is an intersting looking artstyle. Reminds me a little bit of Ghost trick! I like how cohesive your style is between sprites and backgrounds. What do you use for your animations?

Thanks! I'm using ToonBoom Studio over video footage
Thank you everyone else for your kind comments and interest! We're working hard to get it done in time! Unfortunately, I'm going away March 24th so I have less time! It will get completed regardless though haha!

Whoa! I'm really excited for this!
I love the concept and visuals of the game. The tone of the art feels so good when I think of the tone and feeling of morning afters. Also, I'm a nerd for point and click puzzles.
I can't wait!
Check out my NaNo'16 WiP!

Here's another content update
New sprites:
I plan on making some edits to these, but they're nearly all done
Programming: 20%
Concept: 90%
Script: 50%
Animated Sprites: 80%
Background Art: 100%
GUI: 40%
Music: 0%
The remaining script should be done by the weekend. It's looking to be just under 5k long, which is what we were aiming for. Once finished, my main focus will be programming and final animated sprites.
Next on my list is GUI. Music is still up in the air, haha!

It looks like progress is going along nicely

(Don't worry, there is aaaaages before the 24th!! hehe - time goes by so quickly in a jam, but the pressure is kinda nice!?)
I'm really looking forward to playing the game, the sprites are really cool. All the artwork looks really appealing.
Good luck with the rest of work and I hope the music comes together!!

I really like the animation style of this game. It has kind of a realistic, organic look to it, but it's stylized enough to avoid dipping into the Uncanny Valley. I particularly like the GIF where the female character plays with her hair -- the movement looks very natural. And the neutral colors look nice too!
Best of luck!
