This sounds really interesting and your art is beautiful :A:!
I like the GUI also! It fits your game imo, but if you feel like there's something to change, perhaps you should make a mockup
with the other art assets to decide better?
But really, everything is so pretty :A:! Good luck with your game :D!

Aah, thank you so much for the suggestion! I ended up doing what you did and I think I sort of want to change the GUI?

I don't think the border patterns look in place with how the backgrounds look, and I intended to make the backgrounds that style. I do have some other ideas in mind, but my tablet pen has been crap at cooperating despite being nigh brand new... //sads

@ Zelan;; I'M,,, let's agree to disagree LMAO
I do love the bird, though. BIRB.

Hmm, looking at that image, I do agree that the GUI doesn't really match the rest of the art. Doesn't mean it's bad, though. That'd be like saying, "oh, that shirt doesn't match your pants, therefore the shirt's suuuuper ugly." I stand stubbornly by my previous statement. :D

FLOPS ON thank you! xD
I will probably keep it for a while since GUI creating is never my favorite part of making a VN but on that note, I finished two more sprites (barring eye colors, because Ksen has yet to get back to me on that)

GUI update!
I decided to take a different sort of folk art as inspiration for the textbox now-- instead of the embroidery or borders (which looks really nice in circular shapes or with vibrant colors, but look too static in white or solid muted colors) I ended up going for the flower arts instead, since they're absolutely gorgeous.

TEETH. I totally forgot to mention that it was the continuation of the teeth comment he made in the previous screenshots LMAO

Writing the script rn; many a thing are changing as I solidify more and more of the blurrier plot points with Ksen but this also means I have to revise the script //wheeze
It's not even 2k words yet but I'm already just feeling the Need TM.

That makes so much more sense! Now I can rest easy. cx

Don't you worry, at least you've got more words so far than I do. <: Although that may change after this weekend, if I can stick to my plan.

I just scrapped the latest 500 words of my script, RIP
At this point honestly I've written almost 3k words but I keep rewriting things //sobs
Having a concrete plan means I have better idea of what goes in what scene, but it also means that I have way too high an expectation and restriction on what happens. Sadly, this is important, since things depend so heavily on the character-building choices... long-past chosen conversations and events being referred to is a core part of the story so I have to do that bit well......

//is very tired

OH GOSH, the suffering of having to scrap parts of your script, and the continual cycle of change and revision. If it comforts you at all, you're not the only one - I was writing a scene that ended up shaping up differently than I'd planned it, but while I really liked what I'd wrote, I knew keeping it as I wrote it would mean changing other parts of the narrative and parts of the plot structure...

So I totally, totally get you.

Good luck! Even if it's difficult to write and plan, it really sounds like that this project is taking advantage of the strengths of visual novels as a medium. Your effort will be worth it!

:'D; //sad tear
HERE'S... to both of us.... //tears up a bit more
Thankfully my second rewrite didn't get off track (I tend to not really have as detailed an outline as I do now, hence my math-lady-memeing all over the writing process atm) so I can continue on that. SADLY, however, my sister is borrowing my laptop tomorrow. Or this morning. It's already 2:30 AM right now oh crap.

Thank you! Good luck to you as well-- may we not get sidetracked by interesting conversation flows too often again :'D;;

As for today's Stuffs:

IT LESSY
or Lisa, depending on my mood. I'm liking him a whole lot (especially when making halfway-crack halfway-serious alesath sketches) so even though my deadline today is Ann I'm drawing... him. Whoops.
