An early demo version of bookSLEEPer is now out!
It's missing a lot of things, and there are a ton of bugs (whatever is wrong with the common route sprites? OTL), but hey, we made something! It should be mostly playable (please tell us if it straight-up crashes or something).
The game contains 2,775 dialogue blocks, containing 30,689 words and 163,065
characters, for an average of 11.1 words and 59 characters per block.
The game contains 29 menus, 217 images, and 22 screens.
The game is currently in version NaNo.1.0., which is somewhat buggy and contains the following content:
100% of Microbiology Route
~90% of Photography Route
~70% of Philosophy Route
0% of English Route

Thank you so much! We hope you enjoy

Like Alice in Wonderland, except with school subjects. It seems you can have a lot of fun with the writing.
Haha, thank you! The
Alice books were a huuuuge inspiration to me, so I'm really honored you think so!

A really fun game you guys made, too bad it's not finished yet so I couldn't play it all in one go. I enjoyed the microbiology route the most, partly because I'm a scientist to be myself (and from the list of sources that Hazel listed in her dev notes, I bet so is she) and partly because her writing style had the best sense realism to it in regard of traveling in time. And all the different art styles were so nice, though I did see quite a few bugs in there indeed. The protag switching into her payamas between sentences, sprites overlapping, the side-image of English-dream protag not even being in the game...
Not finished yet, but certainly a nice game!

You're too kind, Mammon. The truth is I took a few years of classes but I'm nothing even approaching a scientist. Just a humble programmer. I did some extra research for the game, but that was mainly biographical details. I was a little worried that I would get some "Actually..." comments regarding some of the necessary inaccuracies and simplifications, though. It's gratifying that so far people seem to mostly enjoy the story for what it is.

Wow, I'm super intrigued by the varied art styles! I will give the demo a play, I think the first book I'm interested in sleeping on is philosophy.
