REDD War [NaNoRenO 2019] [Horror]

In the year 2029, humanity lives alongside a race of alien creatures known as the REDD. The species mainly live together in peace, but for 12-hours a year, 5 randomly selected cities on the planet turn into a war zone between REDD and humans in an event known as a "REDD War". This year, the Conrad family's town of Springfield has been chosen among the list of cities. Will the family survive the night, or will they fall victim to this annual time of bloodshed?

Yes, this is essentially The Purge, but for NaNoRenO, I thought it might be fun to take a fun spin on one of my favorite film series to help me get through my burnout from my current, much larger project. Feel free to follow progress here or on one of the Good Tales social media accounts!

Still making progress on the writing. Admittedly, I haven't been moving at the preferred pace, but I'm confident that I'll have the story finished with enough time to get the custom BGs made. The sprites, at the moment, will most likely stay these 'placeholder' ones. Still, nearly halfway into NaNo and I'm not giving up yet!

The writing (at least the first draft) is completed! Tomorrow, I'll go through the entire thing and fix any mistakes/rewrite certain lines, and when backgrounds are completed, I'll create a test build for some friends of mine so I can get feedback. With 10 days left of NaNoRenO, it feels a bit good to be somewhat ahead!
