After a long day of traveling, You’ve found yourself at a shady pub in a small village. According to the villagers, it’s a terrible pub. The food is stale and flavorless, the drinks are expensive, and the clientele are less than savory. But you're not here to drink and mingle, are you? You’re here for a job.


Synopsis
Would-be adventurer Flora accepts a job to retrieve a stolen item for a shady bartender. In order to retrieve the item, she'll have to infiltrate a group of notorious bandits by posing as a new recruit. Fortunately, two other adventurers have accepted the job as well, so she won't be working alone. UNfortunately, her companions seem completely useless without her!

This looks cute! I like the fact that it's a bit high-stakes - what would happen if the bandits found out what Flora was really up to?

Lucky for Flora, this bandit gang has a tedious enrollment process and a confusing chain of command. She would probably be in and out before the big wigs even saw her employment application. She's more worried about even finding the object, considering they weren't told exactly what it was.

Ah, this looks exciting! Loving the linework and the outfit designs for the characters here. It feels like a ton of things could go wrong for Flora if she isn't careful. I hope she'll eventually find whatever it is that the bartender wants her to find.

This sounds like it'll be a fun one to play. Flora is my favorite so far, I just love her face/expression! She definitely looks like someone who's annoyed she has work with some useless people haha. I'm curious to find out more about the other characters, based on just the art I'm most interested in Connor I think. Good luck with your game!

Todd took this job because it sounded like fun. Aaand also because his village burned down along with all his belongings. For some reason, he doesn't seem too broken up about it. He likes when Flora picks choices that are bold and/or self-serving.

The holy knight Connor squired for was struck by a falling tree and died. His church decided he must have been a heretic, and cast Connor out for "heresy by association". Connor took this job to make some money and get back on his feet. He likes when Flora picks choices that are inventive and/or just.

Here's the bartender. Only one main character left to go and I can stop staring at sprites for a while!



None of the adventurers bothered to ask, but the bartender's name is Daniel. He doesn't seem surprised that two of his three adventurers are ill equipped for adventuring. On the contrary, it's almost like that's what he intended...
He doesn't care much what choices Flora picks as long as he gets his item back.

And finally, the MC, Flora!



Flora used to be the heir to a famous locksmithing business. When her father started making puzzles and traps for the kingdom's liches, necromancers, and various other corrupt politicians, she turned her back on him and became a thief. She is clearly the most equipped to accept the bartender's job, but is generous enough to let Todd and Connor accompany her anyway.

Now I'll be making a mad dash to finish writing so I can get to the fun parts!

Here are some GUI updates!

They're pretty basic- I haven't messed with the GUI in Ren'py before and I don't have much time to learn what all can be done. It's starting to look like a real game now, though!
