The article on Layered Image Conversion is up, while the one on
Title Screens has been made free for everyone. As always, thanks to my generous sponsors.

Hi I think this subject could interest a number of people: to show a value in the dialogue window (like life points) and jump to a gameover label when the value reach 0.
It could be a tutorial on screen language for newbies!

it would certainly be interesting to see on the patreon for sponsors that on rengpae, despite its free, you can earn money and your examples how you can realize the purchase of characters, levels, disposable items and directly from the phone to support the application developer on android and ios. Many people do not know how to implement this, they know that there is a faq, but there are examples to

So, another month, and Selecting Images to Show is out, while Avoiding Framerate Glitches Caused By Image Prediction is now free for everyone. The latter one is, I think, one of the best and most important articles I wrote so far.

So, it's that time of month again. There's a new sponsor article:

June 2018 Save on Quit

And an article that has become free for everyone:

March 2018 Automatic Speech Bubbles

Enjoy, and thanks to all my sponsors who make this possible.

Not sure I should keep posting these here - is anyone finding them useful? Anyway, this month's article is Python Tricks #1. The new free article is Layered Image Conversion, which thanks to our sponsors is a great companion to the layered image documentation.

I think it's great having them all here in a format that's easy to search for. Looking for articles on the patreon page isn't as friendly a UI. And as always, thanks for all your work.

August update: The new article on the Animefest 2018 Visual Novel Reading Room (and Launcher) is up now. Half technical, half travelogue, this might be my single favorite article to date.

If you're more into the free articles, Selecting Images to Show is now open to the public. It talks about how Ren'Py decides to show images. And has a cat picture.

I updated today. The patron-only article is a better guide on designing icons for Android.

While the free one talks about saving on quit.

Another month, another pair of articles. The sponsor-only one is Adding Google Analytics to your Visual Novel in an opt-in way, while the Python Tricks #1 article went free. The latter just shows how you can use Python to make custom actions, and to create a class that gets replaced with text when interpolated.

I've updated again. This month's article is Under the Hood: .rpyc Files. It might be the most technical thing I've written to date, but I think it's a good explanation of how .rpyc files help Ren'Py load games.

If you're not a sponsor, or even if you are, check out Visual Novel Reading Room (and Launcher). Being both a fun story and having a really nice launcher tool I whipped up, it's my favorite post to date - and I'm happy that thanks to my sponsors, everyone gets to read it.
