Ren'py Go minigame

#1 Post by limniris1 »

I saw the Ren'py Chess game at viewtopic.php?t=60475 and wanted to do a similar project for the boardgame Go. The Go ai used in this project is a modified version of https://github.com/maksimKorzh/wally, It plays at around 25-30 kyu or total beginner level.

The game can be played as a standalone or integrated as a minigame in a bigger game (instructions in the readme file).

Current features:
  • 9x9 and 19x19 board sizes
  • player vs. player and player vs. ai modes

The source code is available at https://github.com/limniris1/renpy-go or a built version at https://limniris.itch.io/renpy-go.

I have used this program now in the visual novel "Sweet Science". It's not in the published demo yet, but will be in the full game. Then you can play Go with some of the heroines, and depending on the result, the story will continue differently...
