I just did this for fun, and I don't think I'll ever use this, so I hope it can be a help for anyone else.

Just having people make free sprites and have them in one big repository would be quite cool. The problem with using free sprites is that there aren't enough and they get easily spotted if you play a lot of indie games/VNs. Even just people doing recolours etc. would be a big help.

I've been meaning to make a mix and match school-girl/magical girl photoshop paper doll, but it's so much work making all the variations to make a doll that will be more customizeable (different eye styles, clothing styles, poses, body types, gack!)

It's mostly the lack of poses that make customizeable sprites seem obvious. The most ideal sprites, in my opinion, would have 3 body types (petite, regular and mature) with at least 3 poses each and many hairstyles and outfits. There are already dolls out like this on Japanese sites that I know of, but I don't know of any sprites shared in Lemmasoft quite like this.

I really need to get this rolling again. I will be restarting commissions for the project, as well as sorting everything out and making it easy to read/filter, next month. Until then, anyone who wants to volunteer sprites, GUI materials, or backgrounds, post away!

Zounds! Why have I overlooked this thread for so long? This should definitely be in our Creative Commons forum, where people looking for free assets can find it!

I'd be willing to contribute some sprites for some more masculine/bara looking guys. Or just males in general.

Mostly because it pre-dates the CC forum, along with the BG one. I like to tell myself that the CC forum was inspired by this. I've been meaning on restarting it, but fiscal and external support have been negligible.

If anyone wants to contribute, rookie developers always need more sprites.
