I'm glad you like it!
Blane Doyle wrote:And completely hypothetical question: If I was crazy/stupid enough to attempt's to make your "half NVL" box into a full one, how horrible/interesting do you think that would look?
If the person doing it is good with Photoshop, it Can be done but it will look stretched. They'd also have to cut the Quick-box off the bottom and reattach it to the bottom of the elongated image, or make it a separate graphic.

A better option would be to just ask me to do it since I have all the PSDs. :)

Yup, that is definitely the better option... I doubt I would have been able to do that properly myself. It looks great!

Since you mentioned asking... any chance of trying that out for the other ones too? *hies*

ALL of them...? What for?
-- If you're going to use full-page NVL mode you don't need fancy boxes. In fact, they'd actually be distracting from the text. Just use the normal, NVL mode black transparency.

True. I was just thinking it would look interesting or unique, but you bring up a good problem with that. Sorry for asking...

It never hurts to ask. There's no such thing as a stupid question.
-- It would look interesting and unique. In fact, too interesting and too unique. This is why it defeats its purpose. It distracts the reader from what they should be doing: Reading the text, not admiring the text-box. (Keep in mind that I'm coming from a writer's point of view, not an artist's.)

All the different parts of a visual novel; music, interface graphics, words, images, backgrounds... should blend together to enhance the story. When one part stands out more than the others --because it's too good compared to the rest, or because it's not good enough to match the rest, or simply because it's unique-- it's distracting and that tends to throw everything else off balance, especially the Player.

In this case, Less really is More.

These are lovely designs teehee.
I probably won't be using them, because they don't fit the theme of my story. I was going to use the sticky-note one, but then I felt it was a bit too...yanno...?

I might be using the 'blood' one for a horror VN I might be doing in the near future.

I like them a lot~♥

A few people have already. My horror set appears to be fairly popular. I do graphics as a way to jog my creative juices, so most of these were just experiments in style. I'd make more, but I have no idea what people are looking for.
