Sci-fi BGs [CC BY 3.0]

Here's a few science fiction themed BGs. A few of them could be used in present-day settings too.

The licence is CC BY 3.0. Fell free to use them for whatever, including commercial projects. Using free resources for commercial games is lame anyhow. Credit me as Leon Zavšek.

There's 8 backgrounds with a few variations. Some of the BGs are... special. Two of them are animated using ATL and two of them have the sprite in the middle of the BG. Check the video to see what I mean.

Download the .rar file at the OELVN wiki here - Sci-fi_BGs.rar. It includes images as components (like front, middle and back parts of the highway + cars) and a sample code on how to use them.

I made these almost a year ago to replace the placeholders in short VN. Since the author of the VN still hasn't updated it, I'm releasing these as free resources. I hope someone can find use for these.

Pretty cool! I might use them if I ever come up with a project that could incorporate them well. Anyway, thanks for making some backgrounds. They're a huge pain so it's great to have the option of using these ones!

I'll add several more BGs later. They are being considered for a VN at this point, but most of them won't be used.

The lighting (and everything else) is made by following Uncle Mugen's background tutorial, by the way. I also added an electric pole following this advice (and using Uncle Mugen's model). I think it adds a nicely detailed shadow.

Of course. It's licenced under Creative Commons Attribution so you can do pretty much anything you want with them. I'd love to be notified where the backgrounds are being used, but you don't need to ask for permission.
