I couldn't say for sure, but it looks quite a bit like SketchUp to me.mugenjohncel wrote: What program did you use to render those?...

Re: Deji's Resources
Actually it's 3DStudio Max 2008, wih Ink and Paint material, and defaultrendering. I think I placed either an omni or a target spot light on the outside.... And the views were taken with a Target camera.
I made all the objects by myself too using cilinders, boxes and booleans XD; And a tiny bit of Edit Mesh and Mesh smooth too.
3DSMax is the only program I know how to use because I was taught basically a couple of years ago ^^; I have no idea how to work in other programs X_X; I tried downloading blender and it was like... chinese for me XD;

Re: Deji's Resources
Celeste looks awesome! I doubt I'll ever make use of her, because I have been trying to use my own art, but it's really a nice set, and it looks like you could make a rather diverse range of charactes with her. Yay! The interchangable front/back hair was a nice idea, too.

Re: Deji's Resources
Thanks Kura! ^^
I was procrastinating from making BGs and working on comissions, so I decided to start cleaning Celeste.
Instead of cleaning the lineart of each thing, I'm redrawing everythingwith the tablet, with the rough scanned linearts as a guide.
I'm also adding multiply layers for each element to make the shading, so basically in case you want to change the color of anything (hair, eyes, skin or clothing) you just change the colors in the "elementname_col" layer and you won't have to touch the shading ^^
I think it's coming out quite nice =3
Here it is an example of ho it looks when you play around with the colors and keep the original shadow layer:
Once I'm done, I'll play around a bit and I'll make a couple of PNG sets based in Celeste, for people not wanting/knowing how/too lazy to play around with the PSD doll.

Re: Deji's Resources - (Celeste released!)
Thank you very much!
I'm overwhelmed by the number of choices for customizability!
Now I'm REALLY tempted to participate in Nanoreno just to 'use' her.
Is it okay if I modify her to the point that it isn't recognizably Celeste anymore? (I'll give original credit of course).
EDIT: On second thought, there's just no way I'd want to ruin the design. It's just well-balanced. (It beats Tsuina's design anyday if you ask me.). Maybe I'll just stick to changing clothes and colors.
[rambling]
Also, come to think of it, this is a very versatile character design... way more versatile than *cough* the designer of Gundam Seed characters who can be found in other anime that don't suit their design. I think what I'm trying to say is if a creator then concentrates on backgrounds and music (having the bulk of the design load taken off him/her by such contribution), then the resulting story will benefit from the initial attractor of polished character art, but with the bulk of atmosphere provided by the music and bg. As an example, say if Fantastic Children had this character design instead of the crappy ones they had -- with the background art and music, it would have been an anime I would have followed till the very end.[/rambling]

Re: Deji's Resources - (Celeste released!)
I'm SO glad you liked it that much =D
And I'd love to see her in a game ^___^!!!
I'll be making another sprite soon. I'll put up a poll, becasue I cannot decide what kind of character I want to draw =X;;

I'll note that she seems to work just fine in the GIMP.

Re: Deji's Resources - Celeste released! + Poll
You just need a program that:
- Opens PSD files (Photoshop, Corel Painter, Open Canvas, the GIMP, or other)
- Supports layers
- Supports layer transparency
And for the open version you need all of the above plus support for layer mode "multiply" for the shading. And that's pretty much it =3

Celeste looks really really nice. owo I voted for a cute guy because I think he would go well with her. XD
I'd definitely be interested in seeing someone make a game using her. She looks like she could be a really interesting character.
