RenPy HotSpot Tool
Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
This looks like an amazing tool. I'm still trying to figure out how to use it, but I think it's going to be invaluable. ^^
Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
This completely changes the game for me! Thank you

Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
Hey, I just tried this out but there seems to be a fairly big problem - any hotspot you try to make that's less than ~20px width or height, the program won't create. This makes it utterly unusable for more compact UIs, and a fix would be greatly appreciated.
Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
I'm glad you. like it I was suppose to be doing an update it. But been working on other projects.@Kuroonehalf I will look in to the smaller size. I was trying to prevent super small hotspot being created but will update.
Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
@Kuroonehalf Okay, the HotSpot min size has been lessening to no smaller than 5 px. That should fix for you?
Also, I don't know if I had posted the update of being able to move the Hotspot after placing it. I am working on a resize feature just haven't had time.
@Soliloquy and others Here is a quick guide.

Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
I noticed it doesn't like to create smaller hotspots
**edit: Oh sorry I didn't see that you guys already talked about that

@doodlemancy Weird numbers dyslexia is called dyscalculia, and it's a real thing. You should look it up. d: I have it too and it really makes coding a nightmare.
@DangKem Holy SHIT thank you SO MUCH FOR THIS! My life is going to be SO MUCH easier now that this exists. I hope that py'tom can figure out a way to integrate it into a future ren'py release.

@namastaii
EDIT
***UPDATE in Post on Page 3***
@Serenity Frost
I was debating on expanding and pursuing to make it more of an editor for drag and dropping then creating the need project folder for Renpy to use. But that proves to be to much for me to pursue at the moment. Maybe for now I might just have it export a .py file but there are other things I have slowed down on working on.

Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
So there is a tiny problem. Is it something I'm doing or is it just a glitch? It's not too hard to fix but the x coordinate number is always off. It's usually way off to the right instead of where it should be. Any idea?
Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
Sorry for the late reply. I will look into it.

Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
It might just be me or how I'm using it or my computer but it actually seems like none of the points actually transfer to my game correctly. As if they're 100 points off or something all ways lol It's fine though, it gets me closer than with nothing at all but I just started resorting to putting a temporary textbutton on the screen and positioning it where I want the hotspot then put those numbers on the hotspot

Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
i think the problem is be how big the picture is and how much if a range the tool can go. theres no answer to fix this ourselves so let's wait for a update.namastaii wrote:It might just be me or how I'm using it or my computer but it actually seems like none of the points actually transfer to my game correctly. Re: RenPy HotSpot Tool
Test this out for me. I think I found the problem. If that doesn't help could I see a sample of what your trying to create an imagemap for?
**REMOVED OBSOLETE***
FYI this may look a little different from your current version was doing an overhaul. Also it shouldn't matter how big the image is it keeps account of the scale factor to translate the locations. But it could be something wonky going on with it. Let me know if I nipped it.
