Let's get this fast and brief... normally, this should go in the Creative Commons section but I wanted to maximize the exposure time of this post before I get's moved to the Creative Commons section and be buried in obscurity.

2. People will resort to using free background resources
3. I have no idea what type or kind of Background Graphics people need / want
4. You tell me what you need...
5. No guarantees it will be made
6. If it does, it will be free for everyone for whatever purpose you want / need... no strings attached. OK for commercial
7. Expect the unexpected...
8. Finished BG Resolution will be 1024 x 768 so edits and modifications are encouraged as you see fit
9. To make it easier for me, please add sketches or reference images and description detail...

I'd love to see some more nature backgrounds if you're up for it

Looks good! I haven't decided if I'll join the NaNoRenO but here's some ideas if you want general suggestions if you can't think of what to do I guess. I think a lot of people could use these same backgrounds.....

Café / coffee shop
Outside a home, livingroom, bedroom
School corridor, classroom
Parks, daylight or nighttime
Fancy restaurant
Nightclub
Bar / pub
Downtown street with shops and things like that
Scenic views like mountains, the ocean, flower fields
Fantasy / medieval village and places
Sci-fi like metallic-looking corridors / areas, or rooms with lots of computer screens and lights
Apocalyptic wasteland type of things, abandoned and broken places

That's just suggestions though, you don't have to care about this post if you wanted literally "I need this exact BG for my project" replies....!

Some people may benefit from some darker scenes, such as stone corridors, dungeons, jails etc.

I'd like to request something, but I'm trying to do everything myself, so I thought I'd throw these out as a suggestion either way.

Ohh I didn't see your background thread before (I was really tired earlier and didn't click the link hahah).... they're really nice! I look forward to seeing more of them.... maybe going to start thinking of a NaNoRenO project that can make use of them......

Also I just came up with another suggestion - something like ballrooms and other castle/mansion areas, fancy balcony where the dancing couple go to get some fresh air, that sort of thing. It could be useful both for fantasy/fairytale settings and for super fancy dates/events in modern day settings. Maybe that's hard to make in SketchUp though..... I have no idea how it works......

Farmland, old rpg style houses + inns (esp interiors), and markets, if possible!

To me, some backgrounds with temples would be useful

Anything idol-themed would be great! i.e. concert stages, recording studios, photoshoot studios, audition rooms, what have you, etc.

what about a professional kitchen, like for restaurants ?

Oh right, I remember having a hard time finding a kitchen bg way back when I was looking for backgrounds. Not necessarily a professional one, but one with enough room to move around in or that is a kitchen&dining room (a table to eat at in the same bg). Would be useful if the eating and cooking, or waiting for the cooking to be done, happens at the same time. I found one eventually, but it was after finding a lot of kitchens that were too crammed.
