Background advice and critique

Well, ladies and gentlemen. It's been a long time ever since I'm here, and I'm truly happy I finally got holiday of my hellish first term of high school (Society is hard as always  ). Now that end of year's holiday came, I can use all of my times resuming my project!

But before that, I would like to ask some questions about scenery background (Not furniture, but nature).
First: Just how detailed is today's vn's background? I don't understand the idea of details and real quite much.
Second: Are the number of shades related with the details? If so, teach me how to do multiple shades please.
Third: How much is the angle of a suitable image of background? In other words, the best point of view is from?

I guess that's it? Now that the questions unfolded, I present to you all several of my works.
By the way, these are set to be in fantasy world. Please do forgive my crazy imagination and skills.

For my improvement and selfishness, I wish to ask for your opinion. And to make them more real, please do tell me how. I intended to use the improved versions for my projects, and it'll be a good experience. And of course, these are free to use.

As usual, the last will be apologize for my bad English. And have a good evening, everyone!! Nice to see you all again!!!

I think your backgrounds look nice, if a bit too blurry. Like you said you need details and by detail, I mean you should refine the edges of your objects so that the lines are sharper. Not too sharp though, you don't want a pixelly image.

I also think you should improve the colors. In the first image of grassy field, the grass is too cool in its hue. There should be more yellow-green in the grass. I did a quick edit to show you what I mean. The second image is fine, I like the dusty, dark gray colors since it really evokes the feeling of nighttime in a sandy environment.

I think you would benefit from looking up actual VN backgrounds and you can get a taste of them by skimming through vndb.org

I've moved this thread to Personal Art, because this is where it belongs.
