The first picture makes me think of Aucard from Hellsing :



Otherwise, it looks quite good, and I don't see any problem with the character's proportions (the hands looks great).

Ah, I see the resemblance. I barely read manga, but I have seen this motif in other art (eyes in a dark solid background).

Did a couple of redesigns for this character (he originally had that bowl cut thing). I'm pretty satisfied with his current design. The bird form isn't something he commonly displays.
