There's nothing wrong with your style at all!
It doesn't really matter if it's anime/manga or realistic. Good art is still good art no matter how you look at it.
I've seen VNs use a very realistic art, VNs using photographs of people, even chibis/super deformed art and they didn't even look that odd to me. o w o
The feet kinda bothers me though...

Hey i really liked your drawing with the head bandana and the pony tail. but since you have designed the dress a little tom boyish go for the knee length size pant which will complement the look.

Geez, guys. I like the larger feet. A person's feet should be as long as their head. Really. Put your shoe to your face.

Little ballerina tip-toe feet would just cause a girl to fall over. I think the larger foot sizes fit with Deshtat's more realistic style quite well.

To be honest, I also feel like there is something wrong with the feet ^^ The size may be a little too large, or maybe the shape isn't right... It seems a little too "duck-like" to me.

Here's a real life example.

... well, maybe mine should be smaller after all. I'll give it a try ^^ Thanks everyone!

I think the feet you've drawn are bigger than the heads and faces; just cut, copy, and then past one of the feet next to the head to make a comparison.

Here's the last one! I did my best to avoid the big feet for once, but it seems it could still be better x) I also tried to correct the shadows color. I'm quite happy with this character, and I'll definitely keep it for later ^^ Thanks for your comments.

O.O
She looks so cool!
It's kinda like Samus Aran decided to stop being a bounty hunter, and decided to either race cars, or join the international fencing league!
Either way, she looks like a strong, independent women who can handle herself.
Good job.^^

Thanks ^^ I'm glad to see that the character is easily understood. However, maybe the fencing helmet could be improved. I didn't want it to look like a car racing helmet xD My bad...

I hope to find inspiration for the next one soon. I have so much work to do, I fear that I won't have as much time as these last days...

Naw, the helmet is fine, I just couldn't see what kind of helmet it was from my little android screen.^^
Now that I'm on my pc, I can see it better, though!

I just had an job interview with Gameloft, but they didn't seem so interested... They didn't give any definitive answer, but I guess I'll have to try somewhere else.

Damn, I can't believe it's that hard to get an internship, even after I went through all these studies and experiences xD It's even harder now that all my classmates tried their luck too.

Uuh... To think that my parents didn't have to look that far to get a job... Nowadays you have to be a genius to earn a basic salary!

I feel like getting into the game industry is more freelance oriented than other jobs... Like, some fields you just have to do X for 2 years, do Y for three years, and then you qualify for position Z with flying colors. Other jobs aren't so... systematic? I feel like game development is one of those things... (Same with art and writing. Must be creative works?)

Well it may be the case in some countries, but nowadays most big companies like Ubisoft wont hire any graphic designer that doesn't have at least 3 years of working experience, and that doesn't come from a specialized school...
It wasn't like that ten years ago, but now that there are videogame schools, the recruiters are asking for higher skills. They are way more relaxed than other recruiters, but they still are very serious about these things.

I would understand the difficulty to get employed if it was for an actual job application, but I'm just asking for an internship xD

Well, at least there is that small mobile games company that would be interested in me, which is nice... Not really what I wished for, but I guess it will do if I can't find anything better by then x)
