Rinima's Art thread

Ahh, I made an art thread, in hopes that I can get better :3

So, I decided to start off by showing you how I've improved over the past 6 months (yes, I've only been drawing 6 months, so I am rather s***).

Please excuse the bad art quality. I am rubbish at this.

I think the 1st picture (back to back people) took me about 25 minutes?
The newer one took me 5 -_-

So yea, tell me if you think this is a bad idea to post my bad stuff up here ^^

EDIT:
I'm taking requests as a way to try and get more experience :)

Hello! I'll do my best at criticism, but I'm not the greatest artist myself!

Honestly, I don't like it when people say they're bad at art; 'coz the more you say it the worse you get y'know? It's actually a proven psychological thing!

Your lines became a ton cleaner in the second pic, and you drew the boobs a lot better! At the same time though, you drew the forehead kind of big on the second one, like, to where the body and neck couldn't support it. In the first picture you drew the legs too short, and the waist is a bit long.

Personally, I don't put anything on the Internet that I'm not proud of! So maybe you should hold off on uploading stuff until you're happy with the results?

Ooh, and the internet is your best friend when it comes to learning how to draw! Like, just search tutorials for whatever you think you need help with. Look up deliberate practice, it's a bit hard to explain in a forum post but it should really help you (or anyone, for that matter)!

Super sorry if I was offensive or anything, I know I can be rude at times; I don't mean anything by it, really!

Gracias!

I didn't find it offensive ^^ Stuff like that is helpful!
(for example, I didn't notice that the forehead was to big, I just presumed it was meant to be that big ^^ )

Also, the 2nd one was more for crit, since the 1st one was from months ago and I consider my art at least slightly better now ^^ (to the point that I an safely say that my anatomy is much better anyway XD)

That's a really cool rough draft! You're doing good so far, but I'd like to see them with faces, hair, and maybe some clothes before I judge any further.^^

Since I've paused 'The Butterfly Project' for a week or so, though I'd post the art that I have going on for the kn I'm doing for ma gf.

This isn't so much as a thing I want people to crit as such, since it's for my gf, so I probably won't even be releasing it.

Okay, so I already posted this up as something people can use for free, but could people give me crit on it?
I'm not going to change it, but I could use the crit for in the future :)

I think you've improved a bit from what I saw of your older drawings that you've posted here, so keep studying anatomy and making sensible proportions and such.

Coloring wise, you're going to have to push the eyes further. Right now they're blank and inexpressive especially for anime/manga styled eyes. Just searching on the Deviantart search engine gives me a ton of results for tutorials on coloring anime eyes.

I can show you an approach to coloring eyes myself by using yours if you don't mind. Highly suggest looking at the link I gave you since there's a ton of ways to color eyes and it boils down to preference and what you're trying to achieve.

Thanks, been meaning to try and get my eyes better for a while :)

Is this what you meant by more expressive eyes?

Pretty much. I'd say you should try pushing the values more (aka using darker colors) and make the outline of the eye thicker and indicate an eyelid fold of some sort.

Hands practice!

Decided I needed to try and actually get around to trying hands.
So yea, drawing lots of hands!

(I'm.... kinda bad at hands ^^)

Your proportions are getting better! Keep up at that. I'd say finish coloring the whole thing before trying to gauge how good it is.

It still doesn't seem like you have a good approach on how to draw eyes. What I suggest is copying a different artist's style of eyes so you can get a better sense of how they appear on anime styled faces.
