As the subject states, I'm looking for critiques on what I have so far for my visual novel's main menu. I have very little confidence with areas such as this, so any comment/suggestion is very appreciated. I'm especially looking for thoughts on the horizontal layout as opposed to moving the girl farther right and putting the logo/buttons in a vertical style. I also apologize for posting this without buttons. I was worried about having to redo them if I end up completely changing the layout. I hope that it won't make critiques too difficult since I'm mostly looking for assistance with the arrangement of elements rather than the graphics themselves.

Are you asking if it's better horizontally or vertically?

Well, with the current main menu image you have, I think horizontal looks better. Haha. After all, if you put it on the right, then the girl will be kinda obstructed. Id you still want to put it vertically though, maybe you can place it on th left instead, and yep, move the girl to the right.

I agree that the horizontal approach looks good; makes the best use of the empty space. The design will end up lopsided if you put it vertically on either side.

I wanted to see if the arrangement of the three main elements (girl, bar, logo) looked okay. I was actually worried that it would look a bit too heavy on the right, especially with the negative space on the left.

Ohhh, I see. Haha. Well, yup, they look okay. Just keep the buttons on the horizontal grid. Haha.
