first attempt of digital art

hello as the title suggests this is my first full on attempt of digital art so any and all criticism is appreciated

It's an okay first attempt! For visual novel sprites though, you should be more neater with coloring so that it doesn't go outside the lines. I can still see some color bleeding outside of the black outline and that makes it look rather messy and not that visually appealing.

Since it looks like you're doing hard cel-shading, I'll direct you to two tutorials that might help you with coloring:

I'm using photoshop and I know its not even close to what I want to show in style this was a just an attempt

The main issue here is that you're starting with the outlines of the figure, instead of starting with the framework of the figure to determine what their pose should be.

As seen in this example, the correct process for figure drawing is: skeleton (lines and joints), then basic shapes, and then you sketch the outline on top of those shapes.

Obviously the shading needs some work too, but I think the pose and proportions are most important to get right first.

thank you very much for that heres a new wip sketch well i did some of the steps together on one layer i should be more organized but hey what ever gets the job done I'm always up for learning new techniques to improve my art thanks for taking the time to help me :D
