I really like the first outfit from aioutfits2, and the third outfit in the latest one. :D
Also, just wanted to point out that the arms seem a bit too long. The fingertips should reach around mid-thigh, and elbows are around the end of the ribcage.

Thank you! The third outfit in the latest one seems to be a popular one.chocojax wrote:I really like the first outfit from aioutfits2, and the third outfit in the latest one.

I see what you mean about the arms too, so thanks! I'll have to mess around with the proportions so I know what to do better next time!

It looks pretty fine as is, since it has an abstract sort of feeling, but I just wanted to point out the neck. (I think) It usually begins a bit past the end of our eye, in a profile view. I'm also digging those clouds a lot!
(Also, what pencil brush is that? It looks rad. :O)
EDIT: (Didn't want to spam your thread with another post. Thanks! :D)

I see what you mean with the neck! I guess I don't see it as much of an issue because it's all covered by hair (and I do remember having a similar outline before drawing over it-- your outline is probably more accurate though, I think my neck was thinner.chocojax wrote:It looks pretty fine as is, since it has an abstract sort of feeling, but I just wanted to point out the neck. Re: MaiMai's Art Thread [Critique Appreciated]
Nice thread!
Actually, I want to comment on what Chocojax said.
About the girl from the outfits images, the length of her arms doesn't bother me because of two reasons:
-sometimes, the ribcage is drawn shorter as a conscious design style
-the fingers can appear lower when the model is bent forward even slightly (to me that's why the body appears strange in the underwear outfit, where the body isn't hidden by clothes)
The hand is too small though and the wrist should be drawn in a higher place.
As for the girl with the sky background, Choco is right but it's not as much the end of the eye (although it's a good indicator) as the middle of the jaw.
I can't stress it enough but always use references even if you're studying anatomy and trying to learn it, because you need to draw from life a lot to memorize certain patterns of curves and proportions.

Thanks for your tips! I do look at real life references, but I tend to stylize so much that I forgo it a lot. I kind of keep my stylized stuff and my naturalistic anatomy studies separate (for the latter, I try to exercise with gesture drawings of real life models from web sources.)Railgun wrote:Nice thread!

These were giveaway prizes for my Tumblr follower milestone thingy. First is sorani/z04's protag from their NaNoRenO15 game and the second was a friend's OC!

Still been drawing mostly commissions though. I also give my customers some WIP shots. These here are crossover commissions I've done in the past two weeks
