Need critiques -and help with prices :)

#1 Post by chaotiqueparadis » Tue Aug 04, 2015 10:30 pm

Well, my goal is to make (mainly) character designs and sprites. I'd like to read your opinion on my art, since I want it to look professional :) Please don't mind if lines looks messy for now ^^. Is it the hair coloring/painting ok for a standard VN style?

As for the prices, I've seen many examples but, I'm still pretty unsure. How much would you pay for a sprite like this but with a proper lineart? Not counting facial expressions and other stuff. Please be honest >.<

$25.

To improve, focus on the lines around the face and hair. You have the right designs, but they could be more 3 dimensional.

Your art is so pretty!
as for the price, I'm not sure but maybe around $20 for a whole body.

@Sights: I think I understand what you're saying, I'll take a deep look at lighting/shading. $25 I never thought that much, kinda made my day xD Thank you :)

@pocari: $20 sounds nice I think. I'm glad you like my art, thanks!

I tried something more '3d' but, is it ok? I'm not sure if it's the right style for a visual novel. Is just a sketch, btw.

" I'm not sure if it's the right style for a visual novel."

There is no 'wrong' style. Some people will like the artwork, some won't.
All of my VNs are at http://wolflore.net NOTE: Downloads are now working.
Some are at http://www.the-new-lagoon.com. NSFW
Poorly done hand-drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

You're right, I'm just overthinking. Thanks :)

Tried to make a sprite's sample, any opinion is more than welcomed.

I'm amazed. I don't think you should be so self-conscious on your art. I love it and think it's great! :)

They look pretty good, although there is still some room for improvement. You may want to ask for a redline from a more experienced artist to work out any flaws.
