Quick Menu critique

I'm (for various reasons which will be revealed in due time) using the GUI found in Leon's "Ren'Py Image button GUI tutorial" and expanding upon it.
Now, I've spent the better part of the last 10 hours working on this project and now that it is time to pack up, I'm wondering if everything makes sense.
I mean, to me, it does, but I created a good part of the GUI and so I should naturally know what everything does. But what about you, the potential player?

Of course, this is a work in progress, so note that there are still a lot of rough edges and missing stuff. I'm mainly asking if you can follow what you see.

The four quick menu selections on the right are part of the original Image button GUI sample. The four on the left were created by me.
Without looking at the spoiler, can you tell their purpose? Are they clear enough?
Back, History, Auto, Skip, Save, Load, Config, Main Menu
What about aesthetics, should they be larger?

I was wondering what the play button means, then 8 seconds later I know. Other buttons, I know right away when looking at it.

I can figure out what they mean, but if someone isn't used to Visual Novels and their standard quick menu's they might not know what all of them mean. though a lot of that is fairly intuitive

Thanks for the feedback. I'll adjust the auto button and skip buttons.
What about the size, I keep getting the feeling they should be somewhat larger, but I can't make up my mind and part of me says they're fine.
