Are you sure your google is working properly? Because to claim they don't turn up on google otherwise is a pretty bold claim.

Forgive Firecat. He probably had many typos in the spelling of Degica.

Jokes aside, Degica is an extremely reputable firm.

I think discussion whether Degica is an actual company has been finished with a satisfactory result now.

I forgot to say my piece! Haha.
So I'm really interested in the Live2D and Voice Syncing capabilities. I hope the GUI is customize-able. But most of all I'm frightened at the prospect of learning a new programming language. XD

Objection! Its a LTD, not LLC. In short Degica employees are Valve Employees for this project. Who knew Valve was this desperate to get our money.

Wait, so because a company has a sub-set in the said company, it suddenly become invalid? Welp, I guess Level 5, Monolith Soft, and every other company that is published by Nintendo (WHICH IS ALSO A LTD) is pure bollocks.

In any case, Rossfellow is quite right, this is getting extremely off topic, my apologies to the OP for taking the off topic route - firecat, I suggest you apologize to the OP for derailing the thread as well.

You guys are all wrong, let's clear things. Degica is not a game developer, this can clearly be seen from the bad game reviews on Steam and on the website that clearly says they are not a developer team. They are a publisher and partner for Valve, examples include the current project being classified. VNM is not even real, the person said on Twitter that the images are created not taken.

Nintendo is not a developer team, people always think Nintendo as a publisher. Everyone knows Nintendo doesn't make games just like Gamestop doesn't do digital games.

If you guys are going to hate me for telling the truth than do your research. Stop randomly telling people lies. You should be sorry for even making a gang of hatred people on me. No one likes people who follow others because its very lame and you are doing yourself harm.

Official Press Kit Here

Some features:
-free to use assets
-dynamic creation tools aimed at artists and writers
-Live2D and Voice Sync Support
-scripting and extensions of user-integrated functionality
-multiple resolution support
-easy game localization support
-share your game with multiple export options

Thoughts?
The first thing that interested me is its simplified UI for handling art asset libraries. It looks so easy to manage and organize, which is one thing I liked about RPGMaker and I wish Ren'py had it. I've never used Unity before, but seeing games that come out of it (in particular, Corpse Party Dead Patient and Blood Drive) makes me want to pick it up, and this might be my entryway to it.

At the price of $79.99, though (assuming its the same price as RPGMaker MV).... I don't know. I'll probably wait for a cut down the line.

Here's hoping for sales, because I have a hunch that your estimated price point is probably right. Steam Winter Sale, anyone? :|a (Since it's slated to come out in fall.)

I really hope the programming language is something reasonable.

Also, having used Unity before, I'm hoping the experience will be somewhat similar. I used the Fungus plugin and it was pretty great!

It's not clear what game engine is used. It's said 'Visual Novel Maker is based on the KorteX RPG Studio project developed by André Radomsk' but googling it onlys reatuns Dutch or German language sites... I can't read them. Does someone know about it?
I wish it's not another HTML5 game engine. Actually I bought RPG maker MV, but its performance is bad, and its script language is unbearable for me.

As I found out on the german sites the KorteX was an engine written in C++ with a build-in Ruby script editor. The Project started 2007 and was relaunched as a web application (HTML5/JS) with a CoffeeScript editor on 2013.

If you want to do simple VN, might be good. Personally I'll probably never give up Ren'Py since I can do complex RPGs and even card games with it (see my last few releases). The rollback combined with quick reloading of script is also extremely powerful and lets me make games that using other engine (including Unity) would take ages.

Looks like the creator have their cooperation almost a year ago. I wonder if there's anything else.. Another source: http://www.multimediaxis.de/threads/142 ... ost3257068

That's the announcement of the first public demo version from 2007. The engine never reached final status.

Yes you're right. Since the announcement is from last year, the base of the new Visual Novel Maker probably will be an enhanced KorteX V2 Engine (HTML5/JS) from 2013.

A few features from the 2013 KorteX Version are also listed as Visual Novel Maker features. Like the multilanguage support with files --> (background_en.jpg or background_jp.jpg).
