Every hundred and fifty years, a spectacular meteor shower takes place in the skies all around the globe. An old legend tells that should one of these shooting stars make it all the way to the surface, a single wish shall be granted to whoever touches it first. Of course, the stars rarely make it to the earth's surface intact, but there is one place in which they are known to fall more frequently.
Leo Hearst is a high school student living in Turena, a town in the thick of all the beauty nature has to offer. He lives alone in an apartment paid for by his parents who work very demanding jobs in a nearby city. Like everyone in Turena he has heard of the meteor shower legend, but he considers it nothing more than a fairy tale for children. As summer approaches and the school year comes to a close, Leo makes the acquaintance of five girls he has never seen before, each of whom catches his attention for being more than a little out of the ordinary. Over time, as he slowly comes to learn more about them, his skepticism and disbelief are turned upside down as he discovers that these girls may not quite be what they seem.
Hi, all! For a more information and a link to the demo, please visit our WIP Thread.
This project has been in the works for quite some time, with progress being slowed by a number of things, from our editors dropping out to our director (me…) going abroad for four months and being unable to work on it. We've managed to pick it back up and started to get the ball rolling once again!
Depending on the position, paid work can be discussed. Since this is a free project, any payments are coming from the pockets of team members willing to pitch in, and as such, we cannot always promise much. That being said, all of our artwork thus far has been paid for in some manner or other, so this is certainly something that we can discuss if you are interested but uncomfortable with working for free.
If you would like to apply, feel free to contact through PM, Discord, or gengajupite@gmail.com
Without further ado, here are the positions we'd like to have filled!
Writers! x0
We are no longer looking for writers and thank everyone who enquired for their interest!
For those interested, please send a sample of some of your work. Writers must be fluent in English. Ren'py coding knowledge is a plus.
Editors! x1~2
We are looking for editors comfortable with looking over scripts and proofreading the work of the writers. Whether your style of editing leans more towards style matching or grammar and punctuation fixes, we could use your skills! While we don't have a limit on editors per se, it doesn't seem like it would make much sense to have more editors than writers, so we're hoping to find anywhere from 2-5 willing participants.
Though not completely necessary, continuity editors would also be an asset to the team. These editors would focus less on the writing and focus more on the information to make sure that events do not conflict or contradict throughout the narrative.
Editors must be comfortable working with multiple writers as well as in tandem with any other editors, and must be fluent in English. Ren'py coding knowledge is a plus.
Continuity editors must have the above, plus a very good attention to detail.
BG Artist!
Not a low priority, but not a position we need filled immediately. We are currently using free stock BGs as well as a few paid stock BGs, but those are only able to cover so much ground. Our priority for BGs lies in getting the few custom BGs we need completed, and then perhaps continuing on to some others that could replace the stock BGs with more fitting stylistic qualities. As stated near the top, the setting is a very nature-oriented city, and night skies/meteor showers will also play a big role later in the story.
For those interested, please send a sample of some of your work.
CG Artist!
Roughly of the same priority as BG artist, we are hoping to have a few CGs for our demo (not the beta currently released, but a fuller demo to be released in the future), as well as quite a few for the full release. Though some CGs will be simple nature scenes and such, almost more akin to regular BGs, most will have at least 2 characters in them, and we would like to find an artist capable of matching the style of our sprites (while still allowing for your own stylistic qualities to shine, of course). As stated near the top, the setting is a very nature-oriented city, and night skies/meteor showers will also play a big role later in the story.
For those interested, please send a sample of some of your work. Artists must be comfortable with drawing animals and animalistic qualities.
GUI Artist!
This position is a much lower priority, as we can currently make do with Ren'py's stock GUI. However, it's never a bad idea to get started on necessary future assets, and we most certainly will need a custom GUI down the line, so any willing volunteers are more than welcome to express their interest. This is probably the area I have the least knowledge of in regards to VNs, so please bear with me when it comes to expressing what I'm going for. orz
