So, what are we expecting for the position of a route writer?
- - Firstly, most of the plot for Lucid9 has already been created, so if you decide to join us you will have to write following the planning that has already been done. That doesn’t mean you won’t have the freedom to change some things, but for plot related reasons, we cannot make a lot of modifications to the events that were already implemented.
- Your position will be a route writer, meaning you will be writing the route of Elizabeth, the purple-haired girl who briefly appears in the demo. It will require you adapt to our lead writer’s writing style (which is also featured in the demo). However, this does not mean you will have to completely change your own writing style. This is mainly to keep the writing consistent throughout the entire story.
- There is a lot of information concerning the lore, setting, universe, plot, and character personalities. As a writer, you will need to read this information and memorize it in order to create a story that is integrated well in the whole plot.
- You must have some experience in writing, and be also a native English speaker. We will ask for samples of your writing, and will also ask you to take a test. (which we will clarify on if you message us.)
- We will need you to actively take part in discussions among the writers whenever we are brainstorming ideas and attempting to improve the overall quality of the plot. If you cannot take part in a discussion, you can always read the backlogs on Skype in order to read anything you may have missed.
- We also expect the writers to be the driving force of the group, so we want to recruit someone who is motivated, passionate, and is willing to invest their time and involve themselves in the entire project. Meaning participating in all types of conversations – bonding with everyone through chats and calls… And don’t worry, we’re a very friendly group, and we like to joke around and talk about a lot of random things!
- Also, we need someone that has enough free time on their hands to write for the project. We try to be flexible concerning deadlines, we also attempt to keep everyone’s schedule in mind when one is assigned, however, we would like you to try your best in order to meet these deadlines. At the moment, the current objective is to write around 40,000 - 50,000 words for the routes by the the end of the year, but again, we are very flexible on this.
- Finally, if you are interested in joining, usage of Skype is mandatory, since it is our primary source of communication amongst the team. We would like you to be connected most of the time, and participate in conversations on a daily basis.
Thank you for your time!
Diamonit, Co-leader of the Lucid9 Project.
