Hello! I am a member of Watercress Studios, a dedicated team of more than 20 writers, musicians, and coders who are collaborating to create a freeware visual novel. ‘Avitus’ is the tentative name for the project that we have been working with.
The visual novel follows the life of a college freshman from Vancouver attending a prestigious international arts university lying on the Swiss-Austrian border.
One of the main plot points of Avitus is the Outreach Program, a department of the school dedicated to scouting for artistic talent amongst prospective students from around the world. These students come from less desirable backgrounds; many of whom are refugees, impoverished, or criminals.
Our studio was founded in August of this year. Development on Avitus has progressed well. We’ve outlined some major plot points, including the entirety of the game’s first act. The actual scenes for that first act are being drafted at the moment.
Our team is currently searching for concept, background, and character artists who may want to collaborate with us to publish this visual novel.
Some specific work we have in mind:
-We would like artists to produce sprite sets for the cast of characters in the visual novel.
-We would like artists to help produce background and concept art for the game.
Any artists who are interested in Avitus are invited to contact us.
Here are some examples of the work we've done so far:

Ayo, one of Watercress' writers here!
Since I am a man who loves to give, I'd figured to expose some more examples of the work we've gotten done for the game to our friends at Lemmasoft.
Here, for example, is the script draft for the very first scene of Avitus, available for public viewing. Check it out if you'd like!

*raises hand*
I do people. Also, I'm trying to get my art out there somehow.
Samples of my general style can be found on my commissions page. Don't mind the prices unless you feel like you can pay them. (I don't mind either way)
If you're interested, please PM me.

Hurrah! My name is Wolf, and I'm yet another lead writer from Watercress. I just wanted to stop by and drop a little something something that we've been laboring hard to create. Without further ado, here's one of our songs!
The work in progress theme for one of our main characters.
Hopefully some of the artists out there on the world wide web can create something beautiful to this track. We are always looking for more artists!

Cool idea! I'm not sure my art is right as far as final sprites go, but I'd be happy to help with concept art. Shoot me a message if you want.

Hi there! I'm Beeps and I'm a bit new to this VN business, but definitely not new to art in general! I'm looking for some projects to add to my portfolio and Avitus sounds like it's shaping up to be a great project! I'd be looking more at the character sprite artist role as it's in my comfort zone, however I'm also looking to break out of my comfort zone with backgrounds so I'd be happy to work on those as well!
Here is a link to my more recent works, including character portraits and reference sheets.

I'm a busy college student, but since I do want to get exposure to visual novel development, I'd like to help contribute if I may. Here are some examples of my art.
