so basically the protagonist it's a girl (the element of water) and her parents are separated and she not see her father enough, so one day she and her father goes to fishing, and something goes wrong and she falls to the river, and her father drowns trying to save her... so he dies, and she hates the water for that.
All of us born with an element, but some people are more developed than others. So when she falls and the water save her, her powers become more stronger than anything, and the circle of the elements it's complete.
When her father dies, her mother decide to move to another city. And in her new school meets a girl (the element of air), and then a boy (the element of fire) contacts her; like he loves magic and he knows somehow that she is the element of water that he needs for a spell for go to the past. So he promises her that he can save her father when he go to the past, and together tries to find the fourth element (earth).
but also they needs the fifth element (spirit)
And along the history they discover their powers, like control the water and make things burn.
