Looking for a new composer for our project! (Mystery BxG)

#1 Post by Diamonit » Fri Aug 28, 2015 8:00 pm

Hello! :)
We are Fallen Snow Studios, a group of amateur VN developers who have been working on our first project called Lucid9 since March 2014.
You can actually find the thread on lemmasoft for our project here : http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... lit=Lucid9
or you can go directly to our website to find more information : http://lucid9.weebly.com/
In a nutshell, Lucid9 is a Mystery game, with a common route that puts emphasis on a Mystery murder with slice of life and comedy, while the heroine routes involve a Thriller with drama and romance. The project is supposed to be quite the long one (common route is actually sitting at a terrifying 200 000 words), so it would require a real commitment to work on with us.

We've been progressing quite well on the development of our VN, but we kinda have much less luck when it comes to composers, most of them had to left or went MIA after they produced a few tracks for us, and now the music is stalling, and even slowing down the completion of our project. That's why we'd like to have a composer who is interested in what we're creating (the universe, the characters, the story), and who is willing to stick until the end (unless special stuff happens of course).

We are all ourselves working on our free time on this non commercial project, and we are not planning on doing any kickstarter, so we won't be able to give any commission for your work. Of course, we're aware of what working for free implies, so we'll try our best so that our requests are not too demanding in time and efforts spent. And you'll be free to do what you want with the tracks composed, we don't require that we get the rights for them, so you'll be free to use them for other projects, or anything else you'd want.

I like to think that our project and our team has a lot of good points despite being handled by non professionals :
- We are very organized, and have good communication, and we have good teamwork. We're all starting to be quite experienced and we know how to work.
- The people in the team are very talented, and you'd surprised to know that everyone is working for free with such a level of skill
- There's a very good ambiance in the team and everyone is very friendly!
- We already have concrete material released and waiting to be released as well, so i'd like to think that the project is nowhere near dying.

Finally, the last point is that we'd want a composer that can fit the style of the previously composed song (since it would be way too much work to replace everything). It is important that the styles and samples used are similar at best, but at least match each other. It doesn't have to be perfectly similar, because our own tracklist already has discrepancies (thanks to having already several different composers working on the OST). You can get a good idea of our OST style by listening to our soundcloud : https://soundcloud.com/fallensnowstudios
