Hello, my name is Adam and I'm currently working on a visual novel, musical hybrid. It's called SIREN it's a lesbian mermaid love story, and adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's public domain story, "the little mermaid" with a few edits of course. I'm looking to recruit some voice actors for it. This is a non paying projects because no profit is intended to be made off of it. It's free to listen to, play ext ext.
No one is charged in order to experience this. However on the off chance something happens and the crew as a whole decides to change our minds and this makes a profit for whatever reason, you will be re-compensated for your work.
It uses songs from Josh Woodward's creative commons collection, which he has given me permission to use.
It's an episodic series, that will retell, fairy tale after fairy tale all taking place within the same world, of Mertopia. It's a generally family friendly project with LGBTQIA+ themes.
We not looking for anyone besides voice actors as of the moment, however if you have skills you think would be of use to this project feel free to volunteer.
As a safety precaution performers will be asked to sign a standard talent release form. For those not in the know talent release forms are something commonly used within the acting industry for most professional productions, to ensure that companies or production teams, even YouTube channels have the right to use the actors images and voice. I always have actors sign talent release forms no matter, how small the production because I've had to take previous projects down do to the actors, changing there minds. This is just a formality to make sure I can keep the project up.
Lastly Here are the parts that you can audition for:
Erica:
Erica the little mermaid in question, she's wishes to join the human world and ends up falling in love with a girl named Arin. Erica is bubbly, shy, silly but also cunning, dashing and brave.
Her voice range can be any type, we're open to multiple ranges for this character.
Line 1: That girl was so beautiful.I have to see her again....but mermaids are forbidden to journey to the human world...unless...no that's silly...but maybe...alright Erica you can do this.if I visit the sea witch I can...I can see that girl again!"
Line 2: I I don't understand...what are you asking of me?!
Line 3: (please sing a song that showcases your range)
Arin (pronounced Ay-rin)
Arin is the girl that Erica falls in love with. She's blunt, honest, but also charming and caring. Again we're open to any range for this character, however for her specifically we prefer an alto.
Line 1: I am princess Arin..can you not tell by my face?
Line 2: Who goes there...why your just a girl, a...bare...girl....can you speak? then come with me, to my shelter.
Line 3 (sing song that showcases your range)
Lastly the sea witch.
He's cunning, smooth, helpful, and nice. But he also has something off about him that no one can quite place.
We are looking for a tenner for this character.
Line 1: My my....what is royalty....doing in a cave like mine?
Line 2: Princess I shall require your sight as payment.
Line 3: if you so wish, I shall make her a mermaid to.
Line 4: (sing a song showcasing your range)
Lastly please email your auditions to braincakellc@gmail.com
Title the email YOURNAME_CHARACTERNAME and name the mp3's the same way.
Illustrations will be added shortly. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask!
The deadline is October 22nd
