Background artist for a Western Visual Novel - LWN

#1 Post by Nahilys »

Hello,

I am Nahilys, a French guy working as the project leader and co-scenarist on a Visual Novel project based on an original story of my own.

Our current team is full except that we need a background artist that is willing to work WITH us (and not FOR us) on that first game of ours.

The game itself revolves around time loops, romance and psychology.
It is meant to be rated 18+ due to sex and blood.

I have to precise that we are not planning on making these two subjets pure fan-service at all but make them totally related to the story itself and characters psychologies/relationships.
This means a censored version of the game is most likely not to come out if we want to keep our story as it is.

As for the backgrounds art, we are currently working on a demo where a total of 14 backgrounds would be needed. Unfinished versions of them can still work, although obviously not prefered.
This demo is meant to help us raise a Kickstarter project for the few members in our team that require payment (composer/art director-lead programmer-animator-GUI designer).

If you also need of a payment for your work, we can absolutely discuss about it in private.

For the final project, we do have a very precise number of BG needed, although we it sounds like it will be around 40 to 50.
-> IMPORTANT : Do note that most backgrounds if not all will need time variations (3 minimum) and most outside backgrounds will also need weather variations (up to 3) which means 9 variations for outside backgrounds, 3 for interior.

We know this is a lot of work, this is why we are totally open to discuss abiout potential payment.
We also have no real requirement when it comes to deadlines when we are not paying people as we are mostly focusing on working together and finishing the project at some point rather than doing it fast. As for the artstyle, we are also quite openminded.

Here are some screenshots of our Menus that can give you a first idea of the game atmosphere and art style. (Due to the Main Menu being animated, I could not possibly show all characters at once. There are 5 for the menu and in the game, each one of theme fading in and out when hovering a button).

Your screenshots don't work. :(
Some of my visual novels are at http://www.the-new-lagoon.com. They are NSFW
Poorly done hand-drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.

Hello,

thanks for feedback, but I copied the link & it worked for me?

Although the links do not work, you can just copy them on your browser. I'll take a look at the link link thing.

EDIT : I did remove the short links so it all works fine now. Copying the short links still worked though.
