MainFrame - Looking for Character Artist

#1 Post by bcubeandy »

About Us and the VN:

We are BCube Studios and we’ve been working on this project in our free time over the past few years. Right now we’re looking to expand our character art team for MainFrame. It’s a fresh blend of college romance and science fiction set in America's near future. It follows the story of Mason Smith who has the opportunity of a lifetime as he becomes a test subject for an invention that is more than meets the eye.

As for progress, we released a playable alpha/demo build of the first ~20k words a few months ago and our writers are working editing and finalizing more scenes of Act 1. We’re currently lacking art for side characters (which is why we’re here) and more art for our main characters is definitely something we would love to have.

Your Role:

The specific role we want to fill is another artist who can draw sprite lineart in a style similar to what we currently have (pictured below). Coloring and facial features are already handled by our current team which should help to make your lineart look the part. You’ll be tasked with character design (with varying levels of creative freedom) as well as drawing our current characters in different poses and outfits.

It would be ideal if you can draw both male and female characters, though our girls are definitely more prominent throughout most scenes and later into the story.

As touched on before, we are a volunteer project which means we unfortunately can’t offer you any money for your work. The ideal workload will be around 1 sprite lineart every 1 or 2 weeks depending on internal deadlines we try to meet. We understand the struggles of real-life commitments like studying so we can be pretty flexible as long as work is getting done in a reasonable timeframe.

To apply, send an email to art@bcubestudios.com with your portfolio/deviantart/samples/etc. Feel free to leave questions either here or via email if you’d really prefer. I’ll do my best to respond to everyone as soon as I can.
