Comedic/Satirical Visual Novel - Help Needed

#1 Post by RoyaltyFreeVN » Sat Sep 24, 2016 11:58 am

Hello! My name's Emily. I have one completed visual novel under my belt, but I'd like to make more, so I've decided to recruit help for this one, as my other one was primarily a solo project.

So here's my idea: A visual novel that is a satire of visual novels. The characters are cookie-cutter stereotypes, the plots are contrived beyond belief, and everything is lampooned to hell and back, as if the characters know they're just in a game. It's as if the entire thing is a giant inside joke, and the only one that isn't in on it is the main character.
It's not supposed to be taken seriously, and it knows that it's not supposed to be taken seriously.
Think South Park as a visual novel, I suppose.

Apart from this concept, I have nothing in terms of characters, plot, or setting, but I'd like to assemble the team before I get to that, so we can throw ideas around.

So here's what I'd need:
Absolutely necessary roles:
Writers - I will be one of the writers for this visual novel, but I won't be the only one this time.
Artists - Backgrounds, menu art, GUI designs, and character sprites are absolutely needed. We can figure out later if CGs will be necessary.
Coders - I need some people who are better with the technical side of things and making sure everything works as it should.

Not exactly necessary, but still nice to have:
Musicians - Original music isn't a requirement, but if anyone is a musician willing to give us some original music, then I'd like to hear what you can do! If not, then hopefully we can find enough royalty free music.
Marketing - Someone that's already been chosen for the team can do this if they'd like. Or maybe the entire team will once the project is off the ground. Put the game out there and advertise!

CHOSEN TEAM MEMBERS MUST HAVE:
Skype/Discord (We'll pick based on whichever one more people have.)
The latest version of Ren'Py (Required for writers and coders, optional for all other roles.)
At least some experience with their chosen role (so writers need to have some writing experience, and so on)

I can't think of anything more at the moment, but if anyone is interested, please respond below!
