Cure Me; I'm Alone
Summary: Mason is what you'd call average, average looks, average grades, not amazing at anything, not terrible at anything. He has spent years perfecting his self image as to not stand out, and to have the least amount of social interaction as possible. But when he moves to a small town away from all he knows, he'll have to face his social anxiety head on as he is barraged with brand new experiences one after the other. He is terrified of these people for no reason other than his own paranoia, and it is through this paranoia that he realizes he must confront his fears. He cannot do it by himself though, he must find someone that can “cure” him, he must open his shell to the very thing he's worked so hard to keep out, people, because only people can get rid of the loneliness. Only a true relationship will bring him out of the abyss.
Important Characters:
Mason: New kid in small town. His social anxiety causes him to keep to himself but he is secretly
looking for someone to trust and create something real.
Elizabeth: Pretty, fairly popular, and great with people, Elizabeth is a genuinely nice person that has an
interest in Mason's social life.
Cole: Mason's first real friend, they share some interests and he is who Mason goes to when he's having
trouble socially or just wants to hang out like a normal kid.
Mary: A quiet, academia enthusiast. She can be found hiding in the library amidst her books at school
and spends her free time reading and taking care of her rowdy younger brother.
Jessica: A funny, wild girl that is looking for thrills. She has a harder time keeping her grades up to stay on the volleyball
team but she really shines on the court.
What We Need:
We need a person (or persons) working in the art department for this project. We are planning on keeping the character count low without adding in side characters you only have single interactions with. As the artist you would need to make about 5 core character designs, each with a small handful of expressions/outfits. This will be a pretty light game so we wouldn't be asking for anything too complex. As for background art, we will only do hand drawn backgrounds if someone messages me saying they can do that; if not we will decide on using real life pictures or unlicensed backgrounds. Right now we only have an aesthetic guide for the MC, and since you're playing as the MC, you won't be seeing him more than once or twice so he won't take much work. Reference guide for Mason. This is also a pretty basic idea for Elizabeth.
