Undertale AU Fangame [NanoReno] (composer)

#1 Post by SynisterSyrup » Sun Feb 05, 2017 9:53 pm

Hello everyone! For the first time, I am extremely serious about making a visual novel. It will be quite short since I don't want to go overboard with this, especially since we will only have a month to complete it within. First of all, I am a writer and an artist. I am very fast at working on CGs and so far, have been able to create a full CG within 1-2 days. You can check out my Deviantart gallery here: http://synistersyrup.deviantart.com/ If anyone decides to apply to any of the positions listed available below, I ask that you have at least one example to show me of your work so I can decide if you will be right for the position. In return, if you would like some examples of my writing, feel free to contact me and I'll send you some of my work. :- )

I have done my research over Nanoreno's rules and since it is acceptable to have an outline for your VN prepared before March even rolls around, I have already prepared one! Well, It's almost finished, heh. I'm not sure how to calculate the length, yet, but the story is fast passed and resolves itself very quickly due to time lapses. This is a prelude to a bigger project which is an Undertale based fangame that involves zombies and a post-apocalyptic underground where Frisk and Sans must face the corrupted Underground monsters as well as each other. It's going to be a bit of a depressing read at times, so be forewarned, in case anyone is triggered by depressing topics. Topics will include: murder, coming to terms with murder, reconciliation, depression, and PTSD. (I have been doing research on the depression and PTSD in order to try and write an accurate view)

Here are some sketches I was working on about 1-2 months ago as I was brainstorming the story:

An introduction to the prelude: Frisk enters a virtual reality game called "Undertale" only to find out that nothing is amiss. There is no evil king, no frightened damsel in distress, no looming threat... nothing. If anything, the game is in a perpetual 'game over' state, where everyone is happy and content with their lives! On the verge of quitting, Frisk is presented with a game changing item; a gun. Believing that this is some sort of twist to the script, an interesting way to incorporate a player into a game's story... taking on the role of the villain... Frisk is easily manipulated by a mysterious man who insists on his 'unimportance' to the overall 'game' goal.

I will be covering the artwork and writing, but what I really need are some helpful kind team members who can support me with:

Composer:
This isn't a necessary component to the game, as I could very well find free to use music, but if anyone is interested in making music for this, that would be amazing and much graciously appreciated. :- ) Looking specifically for dark themed music that meet these emotions: sadness, creepy, hostile, fear

I don't think I need to state this, but just to be clear, any helping hands will be listed in the game's credits alongside any social media/contact info they'd like to be seen by the game's players.

My most recent work, meant as BG practice for the Nanoreno VN. (also gift art for a friend's OC) It took me about 7 hrs to finish. It's rather rough around the edges, but decent, I think!

About the NaNoRenO rules: They're not that strict. I thought the same.

Hey, thanks for that Mammon! I read through your post on the Nanoreno "rules" and it was very enlightening to hear the responses on it! Thanks so much for that, haha. I also tend to take rules a bit too seriously at times. >u> I'm glad to see everything is rather lax, though.
