Seeking gui artist and bg artist for Ren'Py Jam

#1 Post by Remix »

We are a small team entering the coming Ren'Py Jam with a project based on the idea of helping a stranded girl return from a ufo orbiting earth. Player input controls her using a basic point-n-click system with an inventory to manage usable items that she finds while endeavoring to find a way back home.

We currently have:
Coder: Me
Writer: Onio (aka Onion)
Audio: Ryon
Sprite Art: Kiorang

If you are interested in joining us (it will be a good chance to showcase your skills) please contact myself (as Remix) or Onio (as Onion) on Discord or perhaps reply here.

Sprite Artist:

The girl in question will be a smallish (250px high or thereabouts) full figure sprite with a number of animation sequences such as walk, run (both just left/right (or either and flipped with transform)), idle(s), interact (likely just facing away) and engage (facing forward). Additional poses/actions could also be featured if you can supply more
Separate .png files would be favourite for each sequence if possible.

We were thinking of a cartoony style though are fully open to suggestions as long as the style fits comfortably with humor based game dialogue.
Obfuscated (with borrowed placeholder sprite) example of what we are currently considering:

We are willing to change the art style to match the sprite, so get in contact if you have other ideas.

Background Artist:

Realistically, we need to source a sprite artist prior to backgrounds as the style should reflect or compliment the sprite style.
We are basically after a set of modular (side on) pieces that can be composited together within the engine. Should we use the concept style, we do have some cc0 content such as walls, doors, control panels etc.

Feel free to make contact before we find our spriter if you are interested.

Additional Art Pieces:

We will also be seeking inventory items, perhaps gui pieces.

Make contact if you are interested and can help aid the project, thank you.

Ren'Py Jam runs from the 15th of this month for 2 weeks.
We will likely aim at SFW artwork/writing for this jam release (perhaps light fanservice though nothing above pegi-13).

When (optimism is our natural state of mind) we win and get all the fame and respect that comes with it, we might well consider releasing an expanded version through various avenues.

Look forward to hearing from you,

Remix and team.
