Hi, we are a writer and a programmer/co-writer looking for additional contributors for our NaNoRenO 2021 project! This is our first game working together, but we have previously worked on other games separately. We will be using RenPy.
Taking inspiration from Hades and American Gods, Contemporary Gods is a supernatural dating sim that uses its quirky set-up to explore the concepts that dominate our modern lives.

Humans worship that which they don't understand. In the past this was lightning and thunder, the wrath of the sea, and the great beyond. But as humans change, so do the gods. Today's pantheon--ruled by omniscient algorithms, by the invisible hand of the market, by zealous ideology--is embedded into every facet of modern life.
Now the human world is tearing itself apart, and the cracks have appeared even in the realm of the gods. You play as Unity, a new minor deity, tasked with convincing the other gods to work together against this threat... even though they all hate each other.

✧ Social Media: Goddess of hashtags, of algorithms, of attention and clout. Every time you spread a meme, you're worshipping Social Media. She's friendly and trendy with the attention span of a squirrel and the heart of a shitposter. Curious about Unity.
✧ Capitalism: God of the stock market, of the American Dream, of desire and exploitation. And you thought your favs were problematic! Capitalism is a prickly and calculating god who views everything as a transaction. If Unity wants his respect, they'll have to earn it.
✧ Identity: Deity of culture, of community, of pride and patriotism. One of the oldest gods, omnigender and chameleonic, encompassing everything from LGBTQ+ pride to religious zealotry. They find themselves fundamentally opposed to Unity.
