Re: DLsite 1st anniversary campaign:winning game gets Englis
I'm not sure how well it will work given how MANY games there are and how few people agree on anything... it's almost certainly going to end up being something rapetastic that gets picked.
Some other things that might be of interest to people here though:

Damn, at first I thought it was any VN on DLsite, but when I saw it was only the G rated site, I stopped writing my vote Oh well, one day perhaps
I WANTED TO BELIEVE ;_;
Also, is it sad that none of the games in the G-Rated site interests me?- papillon

It *isn't* just the g-rated games. It's just that those are the ones we're most likely to promote here.
And enh; I think you ought to be able to find things on the g-rated side that interest you but they may take more looking. Perhaps http://www.dlsite.com/eng/work/=/produc ... 36211.html might be to your taste? You can pick up any title among products available in both G-rated and Adults pages!

This.
Other than that, none of the games really catch my eye. I'm just hoping that the one that gets picked isn't one of the numerous amount of rape games they have on the adult site. I will be so disappointed, but not at all surprised.

And I see no reason why people would vote for a Nukige, if all they're good for is porn. (Then again, MangaGamer and Jast have a habit of translating nothing but Nukige so...)
It was ok, but not exacly something I might enjoy. I like those kinds of games, but not a lot. I did find this one though: http://www.dlsite.com/eng/work/=/produc ... 88915.html and it appears to be promising. And enh; I think you ought to be able to find things on the g-rated side that interest you but they may take more looking. Because they're some of the most popular things being downloaded on DLsite, I assumed that a lot of people would vote for the more popular games.Hijiri wrote:And I see no reason why people would vote for a Nukige, if all they're good for is porn. Hopefully I'm wrong though. There are plenty nukige in English already [like you said, just look at Mangagamer and Jast].

Re: DLsite 1st anniversary campaign:winning game gets Englis
Nukige is, to be very simple, porn without really any kind of plot at all, or an excuse plot (X-Change series, Cosplay Fetish Academy, HaremParty, etc). So... they sort of do and sort of don't. A good bit have good plots (Demonbane, Kara no Shoujo, etc.).Hijiri wrote:(Then again, MangaGamer and Jast have a habit of translating nothing but Nukige so...)
MangaGamer as an example: 9 titles out of 30(ish) so far are tagged as nukige on VNDB. That's almost 1/3 nukige, but that leaves 2/3 that are not.
I would look at JAST's whole catalog but holly jeezes there are a lot of companies under their umbrella and that would take hours. No thank you.
There are just over 410 translated games in total listed on VNDB, but only 73 (or so) are tagged as nukige there.
Granted, that is a lot considering how many fantranslated games are not nukige and there are also other companies that translate beside them. They do a LOT of nukige, but not only nukige.
... WHY am I taking the time to elaborate on this? 8|

Mangagamer is also TL'ing Erouge. Yes, that is the title's name. And, truth be told, I think it's one of the worst moves made. It'd be cheaper to publish a porno mag of all the H Scenes instead.

Re: DLsite 1st anniversary campaign:winning game gets Englis
I don't see anything about Erouge, and no movies yet either. Where... where did you get this information? I am getting nothing on a Google search.
You mean Eroge? The game about an eroge company going down the shoot?
Eroge isn't a nukige apparently (just has a lot of sex scenes, and lots of sex =/= nukige), and if the score on ErogameScape is anything to go by (80) it was decently recieved. Don't know how good it actually IS though, as I haven't played it. I like the concept of a game about working inside the gaming industry of the game's medium, and I want to play that one myself.
BUT WE'RE GETTING OFF TOPIC. Any other games anyone has picked out yet?

Or it could just be me being bias, because after getting a hint like this:Bane Reiko wrote:You mean Eroge? The game about an eroge company going down the shoot?

I expected something less....hentai-ey.MangaGamer wrote: “2) How much blood would you shed to stay alive?”
And nothing else really interests me on DL site except a couple of movies, but then again it seems to be only VN's that are getting picked.

Re: DLsite 1st anniversary campaign:winning game gets Englis
I thought that hint was for another game. They have 3 in progress right now (Eroge, OtomeBoku, and Harukoi Otome... the later two look standard fare) and they have a few on the backburners that they haven't announced publicly yet (WHAT is that Circus title with gameplay? They have negotiations with age and a company I don't know about, and a Nexton game they have yet to spill about. TELL ME MG I WANT TO KNOW). I don't think that hinted at game has been announced yet.
Unless I missed something completely obvious along the way on their blog or Twitter, which is entirely possible since my computer is busted and I have been stuck on a Chromebook for 4 days.
On topic again: I'll hold out hope that whatever is picked is either good or interesting. Preferably both.
