I actually discovered this during my visit to AdventureX. It's essentially nothing more than a Choose Your Own Adventure Book - one that runs on iPad and iPhone. The trailer looks like it's, well, bigger:
The game itself looks a little humbler than that:
However, it has some truly beautiful art.
If you always loved CYOA books and also own an iPad or iPhone, you might consider getting it here.

Since Hamnasya has stats and a dice-rolling game mechanic, that would make it a bit more similar to the Fighting Fantasy books.

Wow, that trailer. It looks like something I'd expect from the next Dragon Age or something... Hmm, I've never liked traditional CYOA books, since I'm too harebrained to keep track of everything (and I can't resist the urge to illegally give myself badass equipment just because). But that and the gorgeous art is very convincing. Guess I'll have to borrow someone's iPAD to try it out. Thanks for the post, Taleweaver. C:

Yeah, probably, though it doesn't only rely on dice. It does, though, rely on skills you choose and which you either have or don't have, like Swimming or Tracking. If you can swim, for example, you needn't roll dice whenever you're in danger of drowning, and if you can track, several scenes will give you a choice to follow tracks you'd have overlooked otherwise, unlocking new story paths. I know the mechanism from the Lone Wolf gamebooks who, at least in Germany, were really popular.gekiganwing wrote:Since Hamnasya has stats and a dice-rolling game mechanic, that would make it a bit more similar to the Fighting Fantasy books.
