I bought the game mostly to support the localization of otome games. I didn't find the art particularly attractive and didn't expect much romance at all. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this game. I actually like it better than Hakuouki. While I enjoyed Hakuouki, I thought the pacing was too slow. Sweet Fuse is a lot better if you want to jump into the action. (Not that there is anything wrong with a slow pace, it's just not my thing). I found the story to be quite engaging and funny at times. All the characters had distinct personalities, the heroine included. In fact, the heroine is quite awesome and not just passive (*cough* Hakuouki *cough* Voltage games). The art grows on you and there are some rather romantic scenes, which is a plus! Anyone who is on the fence should definitely try it. Even if you are not into otome games, the mystery should still be enjoyable to you, as well as the amusing references.
