I think the dragon's gold was based on charisma, not breast size - although he does *comment* on your breast size, and may refuse to give you anything if they're too small for his liking... But the actual amount was most like 10*Charisma, I think. Been a while.

For some reason, breast size has never been a statistic I've felt like implementing in any of my PM-based game projects

Why not...Everyone can change their own brest size...now-a-days anyway.

Whoops... you're right.

Sorry about that... it's been a while since I've played the game as well. I mas mixing up the dragon's comments with the reward. He has at least two or three phrases related to bust size ("Wow, they're coming along nicely... your father must be proud. Maybe I should call you 'bosom girl' from now on"...), but the gold is based on the Charisma stat. Good catch.

I'm not sure, but I don't think he refuses to give a reward if bust size is too small... only if the Charisma stat is zero, or the daughter is too young.

Actually, I believe that getting the tights has to do purely with age. As soon as she turns 15, you get the tights... but you have to "Go Closer" to get them. I believe that "going closer"/getting the tights also triggers the visit at the house.

One other factor that may/may not be influenced by the bust size statistic is Relationship with Prince (or possibly Cube/Father)... but I don't have any proof, and haven't run across anything in-game to indicate this, so it's pure speculation.

And, of course, there's the father-daughter conversation phrase "My bust size is pretty large..." but that's not really related to gameplay.

I take it you've never worked for Gainax...

Just kidding... that type of content tends to be far more acceptable in Japanese culture than Western culture.

Breast size was never something I had deep thoughts about for my PM-based projects either.

And I think you're right about him refusing to give any gold if the girl is too young. I am not sure about other statistics though.

Last I heard the PS2 one had been announced but was still being made, or seomthing.

The 'original' PM4 with the girl and her dog was apparently never completed? Don't know if any amount of the half-completed code exists anywhere.

Yeah, I have no idea what happened there. I'm guessing that either Ninelives suspended development (finally!) or that Gainax became impatient enough to restart Princess Maker 4 under another studio (GeneX). As it is, PM4 will be the first installment not illustrated/developed by Takami Akai and his staff (although Akai has still been contracted as a scenario supervisor).

In any case, Ninelives' original PM4 was an extreme case of vaporware. At the very least, this one seems to be moving along smoother.

BTW, a PC port (published by Fujitsu) is slated for Korea. I wonder if they'll eventually release a corresponding Japanese version.

Actually, what triggers the event at the house isn't getting the dragon tights. When you enter the lair you meet a young dragon. If you chose to pay the $200 he asks for nothing happens at the house. However, if you fight the dragon and win, as she grows older - I'm not sure how long it takes after you beat him - there will be this strange looking guy at the door, wanting your daughter's hand in marriage

Defeating the young dragon is one of the criteria... but I believe the daughter also has to at least talk to the elder dragon (if not get the tights), as it is alluded to in the conversation at the house. The dialogue at the house has the younger visitor asking the older one what he's said to her ("'Dirty old dragon?' Grandpa, what have you been saying to her?").

Of course, the dialogue at the house may be variable as well... not sure. I don't believe I have ever not gotten the tights before the visit, and it has been a while since I've played the game all the way through.

As to the new PM4, it was tenatively scheduled for an end-of-April release, but the site is now saying that it has been delayed, and may hopefully be released this summer.

Is the Korean version (PC) out yet? Oddly enough, Play-Asia claims to be shipping the Limited Edition (they posted the status and price two weeks ago), while the release date for the Japanese version (PS2) is still tba.

Well from what i heard, PM2 was schedule to be released... until the "Media" caught word about the "Cheat code" that enables the "Invisiable Dress" so your daughter becomes nekkied basically. Then the company got "flamed" *a nicer way of saying what happened* to death. Hmmm they never released it offically, but the beta in english was leaked out. Forget the Hex hacking, just get the cheatcode and you can access all items, and some WEIRD stuff, and view all endings.

Its sad to see that this game got killed off once media saw it was pornographic material, they mostly flamed the cover of what the released version of the game would look like. A girl on bed in a pose, nothing adult related. But i guess having a girl that looks underage in this kind of game with some perverted invis. dress cheat... doesn't fair well.

For those who aren't 18, forget trying to find the cheat... i only did it to make sure that this wasn't some rumor. well.. its real >_> and yes... if you use those bust pills + invis dress.. you see everything >_> Using invis dress when shes still a child works. So its sortof pedo-ish >_>... Ok i should stop before i get ban ^-^

Over all i love this game =P i tried to get PM3 and PM4 to work, but seems to be corrupted when i try to run em.

This just isn't true.

Now, while what I've said above is officially backed-up, slightly less officially one can get the idea that they were slowly censoring and removing a lot of naughty content from the translated game ANYWAY. The vacation photos were already changed. The rest just wasn't done yet when the game development stopped. But I don't know that for certain, I'm just guessing.

Pm3 Jap for PC is very hard to come by unless you live in Japan or are willing to pay a fortune to get it shipped out by a third party shopping service. Pm4 isn't even *out* for a month, so how would you get it to run?

If you want to buy a real Princess Maker game, get the Refine version of Pm1 - it will run without too much trouble, and I have a partial translation patch that does just enough to make it playable. (However, there's still the problem that pm1 just wasn't that good. It was only the first one after all.)

Other than that, wait for Kishi Kawaii!
