Buying Bishoujo DvDs

#1 Post by Ziff »

Where can I buy some bishoujo dvd games at a store chain of some type and how much will I part with. I don't want to shop on the web.

I heard that Hirameki's DVD bsihoujo games are available in stores. Like "Suncoast" and other places like that etc.
I don't live in America so I didn't pay much attention. But you could try contacting "Suncoast", "Best Buy"... see if they have any...
Check here: http://www.hirameki-int.com/buy.php

If you want to find out more about one of their games then go to products and select it in the list at the bottom. The bishoujo games are:
Phantom of Inferno, Amusement Park, Day of Love, Hourglass of Summer, Tea Society of a Witch
Day of Love, Amusement Park and Phantom of Inferno seem to be $30 or less (on Amazon.com). You can Google the other games to check up on the average price.

Your best bet would be a local, tiny shop (especially for H games; big chain shops will more than likely not carry adult-themed products because of parents who are too lazy to monitor their children).

Some big stores like FYE and Tower Records have anime and have H videos on stock. Oh yeah, Best Buy (at least where I am) does have a good stock of anime DVDs - singles and box sets. Anime DVDs are a give-in but I don't know if there are any bishoujo DVD games. Haven't checked but maybe I should... =)

If they don't stock it, you can get the ISBN # for the DVDs and request it. One of the local Barnes & Nobles stores in my area has a DVD/CD section - I think it's okay for you to request titles they do not have in stock considering they already do that for books. Give it a try!

1) Are all those DvD translated?

2) I don't want lots of porn. I like non-h better. See I don't want to have to hide it from people when they come over.

1. They usually have Japanese voices. And yes, the games have English subtitles which you can turn on or off with your DVD settings.

2. Most of the DVD bishoujo games are non-H. Though I wouldn't discount them having teaser pics in the game... You know, a girl with just a towel on or something but I guess that is okay for you?
Anyways, to be specific, everything that Sai listed were said to have no hentai but I didn't see that for Phantom of Inferno. I only checked in one place though but you can look at some others...

Of these games, let me reccomend most highly Hourglass of Summer (aka Natsuiro no Sunadokei). Unlike some of the other Hirameki games, it is not a bowdlerized erogame. Instead, from what I understand it's basically uncut, getting by on plot and character. It's well worth playing.

There's also a 2-episode OVA available (that has been fansubbed). As far as I can tell, this is the first commerically translated title to haven an associated anime, although that may change when the Kana anime comes out, depending on your definition of "first". While I like the game better than the OVA series, both are worth watching/playing.

I do recommend finding a DVD player that can display subtitles while fast forwarding, as otherwise some of the replays of Hirameki games can take forever. I use a hacked version of VLC for this purpose.

There's also a Phantom of Inferno anime, Gibo Shimai anime, then Gloria...

I'd even say ALL (the English ones). Phantom (positively non-H), Amusement Park, Day Of Love, Natsuiro, Tea Society OAW and I suppose Ishika and Honori as well.

Depends on whether you count Casual Romance Club :)

(A PC DVD-ROM game, released in Japan but with English dialog and subtitles. It does also have an English voice option, but the Japanese voice actresses aren't very good at English so it's not very believable, although it is extremely cute ;) However, the game has H scenes, hence me mentioning it as a possible exception :) Being only available on import from Japan, though, it's pretty unlikely you'll find it floating around a Western shop...)

and there's *one* copy still in stock at the super cheap store :)

(This link was posted on another board, which is where I got it. I do not personally vouch for them being a great store or anything. But if you're willing to buy online that's a pretty good price!)
