One More Story Games

#1 Post by trooper6 »

I just saw this interview with the head of One More Story Games about the resurgence of story games. She even mentions Renpy!

I will note though that the phrase "visual novel" is not mentioned once.

*Next Next thing to do: Set up film animation
*Other Thing to Do: Do SFX and Score (maybe think about eye blinks?)

So there's a tendency towards storytelling games, but the term "Visual Novel" isn't acknowledged in the media? Interesting. I didn't know that it was still underground, with most of my friends already played at least a title in this genre.

Here's hoping for a wider market for all visual novels and story games!

That "Renypy", though.

Hiya. Yes, the typo of Renypy drives me crazy. Not much I can do about that. I think it's great that Renpy and Twine are out there and I hope more people will come check out what we're doing at One More Story Games. :)

Hello there. :>

You should probably promote OMSG titles here as well. I think LSF is already a place where the players can appreciate your games for what they are. And since the Japanese influence is so strong (in existing VNs), any socially relevant, LGBTQ+ friendly, and women empowering games surely will have their strong followers who needs to breathe different air. Here's hoping a bright future for OMSG. :D

What excites me about OMSG is that they don't seem to be Japanese influenced. Are they Mac compatible? Because they look really interesting!

Ah yes! And for the record, I don't think there is anything wrong with being influenced by Japan, it is just, as you say, anime-style games are already so well represented it is great to see some games doing something different!
