Incidentally, on the very same day that the Megatokyo FAQ has been deleted and our guide has been linked, here is the draft and still work-in-progress proposal for the next version of the GRH that I've been working on. I updated several of the less-used definitions and added some links.
I removed the big section with my own musings about how things should be - instead I slipped them in as a suggestion next to the official definitions of the respective terms - in an example it is my belief that using the term "kinetic novel" is not appropriate for us anymore, and there's this VN definition (VN-CYOA, VN-adventure and VN-linear) that I am so fond of... But other than that, I tried to keep it factual.
I think the guide has become more friendly to the beginner, and the simplified system of having flexible categories and terms defined within them is IMO the right way to look at things - since so many of the games fall into multiple categories.
If you have definition tweaks and suggestions, please.
