Galaxy Angel: a fan translation begins

#1 Post by gekiganwing » Tue Jun 02, 2009 6:17 pm

It seems that someone's starting a fan translation for Galaxy Angel. This is unexpected and certainly nice... especially since the rumors of an official translation never proved true. More info from Novelnews here: http://novelnews.net/2009/06/02/eternal ... /#more-515

Great! I hear so many praise these games, so I'm definitely interested :)

Lolis and space girls... obviously you're all over this one, Samu-kun

I like the GA animes but how's the 3D shooting stuff in the game? Anyone know?

It's not really a 3D shooting game, but more like a tactical strategy game where you can assign the girls orders and you watch them carry them out.

But really, who really cares about whether the game play's good or not? As long as there's Mint in it...

Good point, take Thousand Arms for example... You really don't need good gameplay for these things, and people will still eat them up!

Yeah. Like Dengeki Gakuen RPG Cross-Over Venus. Who need good gameplay or story if you could play with cute girls like Shana or Index.

I tried a little bit of the gameplay now. Don't know if it will get difficult later on, but for now it's just fun to watch the girls fly around and blow things up.

It revolves around the camera following one of the fighters around in battle, where you can decide to do nothing and just watch, or give them orders like attack a specific ship, guard, use special attack and so on. Looks nice too.

And, then gameplay is very similar to StarWolf, one of my "almost-favorite" games (if only we also could modified the mainship)... but without loli (if there is loli in this game, it will be my fav)... what a shame -_-

Hah! I cleared through it with Mint.

It turned out being a tough choice between her and Milfie... Mint's more of a developed character than Milfie, but Mint's also a lot more difficult to please. I still don't know why she has those enormous ears, and I'm not ever going to try to find out, since the last time I tried, she got so angry that I had to emergency load a prior save slot to recover. (I thought she'd get upset so I tactly saved beforehand. =w= Like Konata says, save often and in different slots so that you can see all the different possiblities...)

The game play was pretty much a cakewalk, except the final battle. That was a damned epic fight. All of the Angels fell one by one in the unending onslaught until it was just Mint and the Harvester by themselves... And Mint only managed to destroy the last enemy with a super attack when the Elesior was pretty much at 5% health. That was intense.

The galaxy is safe... At least until the next game, anyways.

I love Mint, OMFG elf ears are so hot.
Don't worry, we can get through it together. I didn't forget about you! I just got overwhelmed.

I finished the game with Milfie. Don't know if she's one of my favourites, but she seemed like a 'main girl' of sorts, so I went for her first.
Last battle was epic... after two failed attempts I managed to finish it with all ships intact.

Forte is awesome, so I might go for her next. Although now I just want to get on to the next game and see what happens :P

Yo to all GALAXY ANGEL fans i am currently in progres of makeing a new galaxy angel game from SCRATCH useing renpy and a few other programs the only trouble im haveing with it is the battle system rite now im trying to modify renpy so i can make a Real-time battle engin insted of a turn-based battle system For all you fans who love galaxy angel just the whay it is I have good news its going to be so much alike to the origonal games youll question if it realy is a fan made game i will be starting a new fourm to bring pple up to date with my proggress just like in the origonal games you can play as tact but with a twist you can also play as a new Emblem frame piolot named Alastor and of corse since itll have all the same features as previouse games EX: Real-time battle, Multiple ending syinaryos, and lots and lots of ROMANCE!!! It will also include some extra mini games EX: sneek mode, and cyber warfare.
It takes place between the first and the second game and its plot has to be fairly complex since im trying to make it blend in with its fellows (its sort of like niting a quilt once you think your finished you find you want to add a disign to it what do you do? you cut it into 2 peaces and sow your new design to fit seemlessly with the rest of the quilt and thats what im trying to do make my plot and the game pots syncronize) its going to be the same fun and exciteing crew but without chitose ONE THING YOU MUST KNOW my game is a paradox litteraly Alastors garndfather messes with the time line and well....... No you will play the game to find out but i will tell you this eventualy tact and friends fix the paradox but sadly no one remembers what happend and thats why things happen the whay they do in GA:ML so look forward to my game and remember im allways looking for help so just contact me at saberxj@hotmail.com
Relese date is still unclear to me but if things go smoothly then it should be ready by around late january 2011 or sooner depending on how much help i get im working on the game every second i get im even working on the script of the game in school with a pad and a peice of papper so remmember HELP WANTED!!
